Tonights training

Deads
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
5 x 140 kg
7 x 180 kg
1 x 200 kg

Rows, pulldowns

Decided to have a go at reps tonight with 180, I thought there might have been more than 7 and on another night there will be, very tired tonight what with work and diet.

I think the strength was there Bill I'm just shagged, I might take a few days off after this weekend, the last thing I need now is an injury.

Tonights training

OH Press Machine
10 x 30 kg
5 x 50 kg
5 x 70 kg
5 x 90 kg
3 x 110 kg
1 x 130 kg

Seated OH Press Machine
90 kg x 8, 7, 6

Lat raises, shrugs, ab stuff

The 130 was a real struggle and very close to a fail but at this stage I'll take that.

Tonights training

Squats
10 x bar
6 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
5 x 120 kg
Belt on
5 x 140 kg
1 x 160 kg

Half Squats to bench
5 x 100 kg
5 x 140 kg
5 x 160 kg
5 x 180 kg
1 x 200 kg

Rope crunches

The 200 on half squats was a failed double, need to improve these.
I know it's Tuesday but this will be my Monday night squat routine for the next 4 weeks.
I will be entering the South Yorks Un-Equipped on 1st May, the intention is to compete at 82.5 so I need to drop a few pounds before then.

Tonights training

Flat BBBP
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 80 kg
5 x 100 kg
3 x 110 kg
3 x 2 x 120 kg

Rack Press
5 x 100 kg
2 x 120 kg
1 x 130 kg (f)

CGBP
5 x 60 kg
5 x 80 kg
5 x 90 kg
5 x 100 kg

This will be my Tuesday routine for the next 4 weeks but as last night, things need to improve.
Tonight was the first time I've benched above 100 kg for a while. The fail on the 130 rack press is a good indication of the strength lost, it wasn't too long ago that was a comfortable 140.

Sunday Update

BW 84.6 kg,
Well on target for 82.5 on 1st May, just need to keep the diet tight over the next 4 weeks (apart from today). I'll drop another 2 or 3 lbs then maybe a little water on the day but nothing major.

BW 84.4 kg,
About the same as last week but I had a chinese last night with a couple of sweets so not bad.
The list of entrants for the comp on 1st May has gone up, some very good lifters in my category who lift a lot more than me, looking forward to it.

BW 84.8 kg,
Not surprised it's gone up, diet has been all over the place this week, either eating next to nothing one day or filling my face with crap the next, I need to sort it over the next week or so.
I'll concentrate on reps this week, nothing heavy to get some volume in.

Well done on a deadlift pb! Nice stuff

You fine weight wise currently.

Do you know how much weight you loose overnight? From after pre-bed piss to after morning piss? You then know the minimum you need to go to bed weighing in at the day before the meet.

By not eating or drinking around 2-4pm day before your meet you should loose 1-2kg at your weight. Your in a good position weight wise.

I'm happy with how the deads have gone, the consistent training through the winter is paying off now.

I would say I generally lose 1.5 kg - 2 kg overnight.

When I weigh myself it's always under the same conditions which is on a Sunday morning after taking the dogs for a walk and having a shower but before having a drink.

The comp is on a Saturday so the plan for Friday is to be on low carbs all day, then nothing to drink from about 6 in the evening. I'll weigh myself first thing then decide whether I'm close enough to sweat the extra bit out or give up and go into the 90's, I'm not overly concerned.

Well done on the half squats mate. Feels good to work with the higher weight doesn't it? Give's a little more confidence when walking out with a max effort full squat. ;o)

No complaints from me mate, I'm really enjoying them, like you say it gets you used to having the bigger weight on your back, that's why I like doing the heavy walkouts every so often.
