I'm supposed to be doing the All England mate, it was 3 weeks before the British but with the change of date it's now only 2, it may mean dropping out of the All England which would be a shame.

I was a little disappointed not to get the 125 on the bench because it was there on the day, I just got it wrong, other than that I was happy.
The sh!ts had cleared up by Sunday morning which was a relief, I didn't fancy squatting and not being sure
I'll be back in the gym on Thursday I think, then definitely Friday to have a massive bicep session before going to Cornwall on Saturday.

Tonights training

Flat BBBP
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
3 x 5 x 100 kg

Squat
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
3 x 140 kg

Deads
5 x 100 kg
5 x 140 kg
3 x 180 kg

Rows, DB Presses, curls

First session since the comp on Sunday, I've been ill with a cold all week.
No training next week I'm on holiday.
I've pulled out of the All England in August as the British has been moved to 4/5 September and 13 days between comps is not enough for me.

Tonights training

Squats
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg

3 x 140 kg
3 x 150 kg

Flat BBBP
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
3 x 110 kg

Rope crunches

First session back after my week in Cornwall, I've put a few kg's on which is not surprising, I had to let my belt out a notch.
I was going to just squat tonight and go heavier but after the 150's my right inner thigh and hamstring went very tight and any more would have meant injury.

Deads
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg

3 x 180 kg
2 x 210 kg (PB)

Flat BBBP

5 x 60 kg
3 x 5 x 100 kg

First time I've tried for reps with more than 200 kg, a very hard fought for 2nd rep but form was still ok-ish.

Cracken deadlifting! Not many heavy sessions left?

Due to change of date I took my last heavy session today as opposed to 2 weeks out as on my hold next week. Could probably do with a break.

Just need to get sharp quick when I get back but will have 2 weeks so should be no probs

I think I still need to get some heavy sessions in before the Brits, I've just taken practically 3 weeks off what with doing the North Mids and being on holiday.

Tonights training

Squats
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
3 x 140 kg
1 x 160 kg
1 x 160 kg

Partials to bench
2 x 5 x 160 kg
3 x 180 kg
2 x 180 kg

Rope crunches

No idea what happened tonight, the first 160 was terrible, almost a good morning.
I've had a good rest and lots to eat this weekend, I was really up for training tonight and I'd planned a double at 160 then a single at 170 but there was just nothing there.

Not great again but nothing more there tonight, I've had some pain in my right wrist and elbow/bicep area for a couple of weeks now which didn't help tonight.
My squat shoes arrived from strengthshop.co.uk today so I gave them a quick go tonight, felt really good and fit perfectly.

Deads
10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
5 x 100 kg
5 x 140 kg
3 x 180 kg
1 x 220 kg
2 x 200 kg
3 x 180 kg

Pulldowns, rows, curls

This was done at Body Flex Gym in Aylesbury as I was away on a course.
I had thoughts of attempting a double at 220 but they soon disappeared when I straightened up with the first.

Partials

2 x 2 x 180 kg

Hyperextensions, rope crunches

Very poor tonight, I nearly didn't get the 160.
The excuses - poor sleep, not enough to eat, been up and down a ladder all day decorating.
I need to get back into a routine sooner rather than later - diet and training.

I think I may have rested a bit too much mate, I'm looking forward to going back to a high volume routine once the Brits are done.
Will you be there on the Saturday as well?
Travel is easy for me this year, I'm only about an hour from Birmingham.

It's probably not as bad as it reads at first, the 215 was an attempted double.
I only got the second one a few inches off the floor but it's given me some confidence and I think that with a bit more food in me and only doing a triple for the warm up at 180, it might be there.
The 225 hardly left the floor, shouldn't have tried it in hindsight.

I should see you there on the Sunday, your class looks easily the most competitive on paper, there's currently only me in mine!

Deads
10 x bar

5 x 100 kg
5 x 140 kg
3 x 180 kg
1 x 220 kg

Tonight's session was trying my openers for the British Un-Equipped on Saturday, everything was done in running shoes and a loose belt.
The squats were comfortable but could have been a little deeper, should be better in my new squat shoes.
The bench wasn't as comfortable as I would have liked and I may opt for 110 on the day.
The dead was a real struggle from 180 onwards and the planned 3 x 1 x 220 wasn't happening, 1 was hard enough. I've not eaten enough today though and I could feel myself running out of steam, I think with some food in me and my deadlift slippers and decent belt on things will be better.

good luck at the weekend

I see what you mean about a thick belt for squats, used mine today for fisrt time on squats and I failed at 120kg on Sat but did 2 x 1 120kg and 1 x 1 125kg today as it really does feel as if its something to push against with the thick belt, or maybe it was in the mind either way its 10kg more than i have done before so good progress

04/09 GBPF British Un-Equipped

Squat
1. 150 kg
2. 160 kg
3. 172.5 kg (f)

Bench
1. 110 kg
2. 120 kg (f)
3. 120 kg (f)

Dead
1. 220 kg
2. 235 kg (f)
3. 235 kg (f)

Total 490 kg 2nd place (of 2)

Considering that I pulled out of the All England 2 weeks ago because it was too close to this comp and having had a 527.5 kg in April and a comfortable 510 kg total in July, this result is disappointing to say the least.
I'm still not sure what happened, there was just nothing there on the day.
The 172.5 squat was a decent attempt and would have been a PB.
The 120 fail on the bench is something I really don't understand, it just felt really heavy.
The 235 fail on the dead was again a decent attempt but I just couldn't straighten up with it.

Back to basics in the gym I think.

Try tapering different next meet pal (pm etc if you need help). If your gym strength is good but your not getting it on the platform that's what I'd look at first! Hit dose happen though but def sounds like you were very flat on the day.

Good to meet up on the sat pal!

10 x bar
5 x 60 kg
3 x 100 kg
2 x 120 kg
6 x 2 x 135 kg

Rope crunches, hyperextensions

8 weeks to go to the next comp which is the North Midlands Open. I've sorted out a routine from now until then which includes the masters russian squat routine and heavy doubles and triples for bench and deads with some assistance thrown in.
Tonight was the first night of the squat routine using 170 kg as my 1RM without subtracting the 20%.
