The Championship Thread 2009/2010

As the new season is looming and the fixtures are out I thought I would start this thread now.
 
A tough season ahead as the quality in the division has increased, looking forward to Newcastle away and a competitive season.
 
What are your hopes and realistic aspirations for your clubs this season?
 
For me I would be happy with mid table, we are going to lose quality players as we are fecking skint and the new stadium will be like playing away for the first few home games.
 
Here is the new stadium by the way, what do you think? I like it, obviously not a patch on good old Ninian but it will do

Finally a football thread I can join in....there wasn't a League 1 thread last season lol....

As a Toon fan, I hope we get new owners, a new manager and hopefully some new players. If we do, then maybe we'll be able to stay up in the Championship. The longer it takes, the more likely we'll be in a relegation scrap next year.

Looking forward to not being on the back page of the Red Top papers!

Wahey, football nearly back...

We start away at Preston, then 2 homes, QPR and someone else I think.

Not ideal, but we've 7 players leaving this Summer so are guarenteed at least one new player in all 3 key areas.

Bids so far for Da Silva, Lee Martin and supposedly looking at McSheffrey and a few others.

Posh new ground eh CL, it's not got that menace as NP though ;)...excited about Roy Keane, already stopped fans watching training sessions for some reason...he walked in like a pitt bull without his lead on lol...can he produce? hmmmm..not sure, be chuffed with a play off place...that's what you should be aiming for!!

Can't see us improving on last years mid table finish unless Flavio and Bernie get their wallets out.Need 2 new strikers,a midfielder and a left back IMO.

Can't see Magilton doing wonders unless the board invest.Not much sign of that yet.

But still can't wait for kick-off on the 8th.

Alphabetically, Forest are 13th, and as I am a pessimistic sod, my aim is for Forest to finish above that, considering last season's heart troubles.

Can't really see Leicester gettin promoted, the league is looking stronger than ever this season. Infact we'll probably be viewed as an "easy" game!!!!!

Can't see beyond the usual culprits myself. Two out of the relegated three will be there or thereabouts, I'll plump for Middlesborough and WBA from the the three, chuck in Reading and Ipswich, Utd will have their usual fvck it up scenario not making the play offs, which will make our yet again avareage season.

Mid table for Cardiff this season, Swansea will just avoid relegation I think.

gonna depend who they can sign, looks like sousa for new manager which came right out of left field, gomez has gone to Wigan today so he wont be coming back.

if they dont lose 2 many players, they should be comfortably mid table, unless new guy wants 2 change tactics to much
