Gold broke through both long term upper trend, and shorter term (18mnth) accelerating upper channel recently. A false breakout? More probable than not imo, but if confirmed, expect fireworks.

In general yes, but imo it was more likely to pull back into the (rising) trading channel (giving a chance to buy more cheaply). It hasn't (yet) and trading above it.

A quick snap back experienced on gold (and silver), as was likely given the highly overbought status.
Took the opportunity to buy/add on this dip.
Rising short term trendline (start of Jul) offers immediate support at USD1750 with stronger support if necessary around USD 1630

Back in gold and silver too in the CTF after actively trading both within the last 10 days on back of the euphoric wave. Managed to get out just before the blowoff which was nice.
