Ok i have a recipe for Wholewheat pizza dough whic i have posted below, now all im after is users suggestions for healthy toppings. Makes a pizza dough for four people 1 tablespoon dried yeast +1 teaspoon sugar 1/4 pint / 150 ml warm skim milk 8 oz / 200g wholemeal flour 1/2 oz / 15g Olive Oil salt to taste * Crumble the fresh yeast into the liquid or mix in the dried yeast and sugar. Keep warm until the yeast is working well. * Put the olive oil into the flour. * Slowly, mix the flour into the liquid until a uniform dough is formed. * Knead for 1 minute into a stiff dough. * Roll the dough out to form a 12 inch / 30 cm circle and place on a greased baking tray. * Leave in a warm place for 30 minutes when it should have risen.

Passata, garlic, peppers and mushrooms for the sauce Low fat mozzarella for the cheese (the fresh mozz. has a similar nutritional content to cottage cheese) Add some dried parmesan to the mozz. if you want it more cheesy tasting. Olives on top. Luvverly. Your recipe makes enough for 4 people? Hmm... Don't invite me then, if you want the other 3 to have any!

Try out the tesco Healthy Living Range od mature cheddar as its only 3% Fat of which per 100G serving is 1.7G saturated. Also per 100G the protein is 36G per 100 grams! So healthy toppings could be Black Olives All Veggies like aubergine, peppers, sweetcorn, sweet onions, Mushrooms etc Tomatoes (plum variety are the best as they are the sweetest) Lean Chicken Lean Minced Beef All seasonings, i recommend Oregano Garlic Powder and Basil The whole recipes Nutrient breaks down like this 750 kcals 36G protein 146G complex carbs 10g simple carbs 14 G Mono So if the dough divides up into 4 equal portions which you can freeze each portion BTW. Each portion of dough for a persoan Pizza woud come out to be 187.5 Kcals with the following nutrient content 187.5 Kcals 2.5G Simple Carbs 3.5G of Mono Fats 9G protein 36.5 Complex Carbs Ok now all i want from you peeps is your Pizza inventions ranging from High Protein variants to as many as you think of!

For simple pizza this is what I do: One whole wheat pitta bread Mix tomato puree, a little basil and oragano - spread on the pita Top with low fat or non fat mozzeralla cheese Sliced and diced chicken breast Small bit of diced pepperoni Into the oven at high heat for 25 mins - doesn't taste to bad at all I can tell ya. Sorry to hijack thread - just an alternative to mixin up the dough.

Forget healthy living cheeses etc..... some good organic cheese, maybe some healthy mozarella if you want extra but keep cals down, then for me it's capers, oilves, prawns OR a various selection of meats. Unless you have it ED going for crappy 'healthy option' foods ruin a damn good pizza IMO

Tried organic cheese very high in saturated fat, i wouldnt mind if it was the good kind but im posting this because there isnt a healthy alternative to a real pizza. Dont forget its all about taste here and most importantly the sense of sight as well as smell influences the sense of taste ;). As regards to healthy Mozzarella its 13G of saturated fat per 1/2 pack! Thanks but no thanks. Besides if i wanted a "proper" pizza i would go down to Papa Johns :D ORIGINAL: dirtyvest Forget healthy living cheeses etc..... some good organic cheese, maybe some healthy mozarella if you want extra but keep cals down, then for me it's capers, oilves, prawns OR a various selection of meats. Can you get non-fat cheese over in the UK? I mean ive seen it when i used to live in the US and it tasted like chicken feet lol. Pepperoni is my weakness but its got lots of saturated fat in it plus its pork so its a double whammy for me. Daveo. The dough makes enough for 4 people assuming they have a quarter each of a 14" Pizza which is about 3 slices or so each. Never thought abotu using passata but think ill give that a go now as i usually use tinned chopped toms with some herbs and heated it up until it reduced and got thicker. ORIGINAL: theiopener I personally have yet to find or invent a recipe to replace Ben & Jerrys Chocolate Fudge Brownie Ice Cream but one step at a time hey Here you go: Put half a pint of milk in a bowl and add a sachet of chocolate angel delight (or supermarket own brand stuff if you're a scrooge like me) and a scoop of unflavoured whey. Use a hand blender on it until the powder is mixed in and it's frothy on top. Put it in the fridge for 15 minutes and then in the freezer for half an hour. Enjoy! OK, it's not exactly like fudge brownie ice cream, but it is pretty good! Contains about 30g of protein (obviously depending on the size of your scoop) and only about 10g of sugar. Of course there are many flavours of angel delight to try out. Butterscotch is the best one in my books.

Im still trying to come up with a BB version of Frozen Yogurt, tried many different things but no joy as of yet. The consistancy is all wrong, i thinjk i may need to splurge on a ice cream maker

ORIGINAL: sivvy1 what about healthy dominos texas bbq ?? how would you do that? Well use my pizza dough recipe for starters, Use some low fat cheese for the topping, use the same ingredients but omit the bacon. So you can take some sliced chicken breast and rub it in bbq spices or simply put some uncooked chicken in some bbq sauce and leave for the night to marinade then cook it up. Put half cooked veggies on top like peppers and red onions mushrooms etc and stick it in the oven to finish off. Main things about Dominos as well as others like Papa johns is that their bases are high GI and their cheese is very high in saturated fats, plus the sauce is always full of sugar. So if you can take these things and make them healthy there shouldnt be any reason to include pizza or any other healthy version of meals in your everyday diet and thus eliminate your cravings Phew that was a mouthful (pun not intended)
