2nd week of my invented shoulder workout containing no lateral or front raises due to my shoulder being sore. That said it all went pretty well, have found some interesting movements which I actually think are isolating the delts more. Sadly they also make me look like a crazy mainac No 1's and 2's on bench as I still felt sore from Tuesday. Am actually starting to enjoy shoulder pressing now which is very unusual.

Ran (as opposed to jogged) about 4 miles today involving one short break. I think I stopped to break up the monotonous boredom as much as anything The knee supports are fab Not only no pain during the run they must also heat up the joint and encourage circulation as, for about half an hour afterwards, my knees have this warm, glowing feeling just like a Ready Brek kid.

Legs for the first time in a couple of weeks tonight and was planning on just easing myself back in. However, knees felt so good in the new neoprene that I pressed on a bit. Leg press was good with 3 easy sets at 270kg. Then worked my way back down to bottom of the stack on the hack squat machine Knees felt much more stable and were pain-free throughout ...I may lose my chance for a blue parking badge at this rate

I've been rumbled. The knee supports are made by, whisper it quietly, the chav's favourite, Lonsdale. The main attraction was the fact that they were half-price and also that they are "open" supports which you don't seem to find in the cheapo range quite so often. Cost me less than a tenner for both.

Dont put yourself down - your curling is impressive mate! I cant for the life of me do any jogging any more - I used to do it last year over the forrestry [I live on the corner of it] but had shooting pains through my shin and knee joint after a month. So I am strictly non impact now sitting on a spinner [like a big girl!]

ORIGINAL: chrismac Dont put yourself down - your curling is impressive mate! It's not bad but about to chase it up into being a bit better. I'm aiming to get back to 50kg inc. the Oly bar and 45kg plus the E-Z bar. Chest tonight and the 3 x 5 on 100kg really flew up, had to rein myself in and not get tempted to up the middle set. Stuck to the plan though and will be better placed to do a bit more next week. Managed to pick up a bit of skill at getting dumbbells in place a bit better so did 80lb-ers on shallow incline. Did some of daKensta's close gripping and found it much more comfortable on the shoulder. Will add a bit of weight there next week too. Triceps are leaving biceps in the shade at the minute.

Legs have just totally siezed up on me today Just really don't think I will be able to run so will have to do a long walk instead. Oh the irony, buy neoprene supports which cure your knee pain and then cripple your legs so you can't run. Genius at work

ORIGINAL: kendod666 Is it muscular or joint mate thats the problem? It is just totally self-inflicted muscle-soreness from Monday. I know some people would see this as a good thing and sign of a successful workout but my plan at the minute is only to be doing what I can comfortably recover from. Hopefully I will have learned my lesson, I think I just got carried away with the new bionic legs.

Good chins again, 3 x 8 super controlled form widest possible grip. Managed the same heavy back weights as last week but with better form. Up to 45kg plus the E-Z bar for one set of curls but then had to retreat back to 40kg. It was do-able with reasonable form though so will try and get 2 sets on that weight next week. Can I do shoulders in time to see the England-South Africa match tomorrow? Given that everyone seems to do shoulders on Friday and will no doubt all have the same cunning plan to sneak in a bit earlier, it is doubtful.

It started with a bit of close-grip and then crept its crooked way back into my workout. I got a bit fed up with it and my bicep workout in general last night so changes are in the offing. I may do a period of atonement on the preacher bench.

Hello Lisa, lovely to see you back. I am mostly held together by various neoprene supports at the moment Am just a couple of weeks into a heavier routine and enjoying it much more than the high-rep stuff. By not lying about not reading the updates you reveal that you are still Lisa, a girly girl. Ian would've lied without blinking.

Gave the shoulder workout a miss tonight as have been feeling sore all week. I'm glad I have that as an excuse rather than I stayed in to watch the rugby Good grief.

ORIGINAL: daKensta where did you get them/how many/how much? I'm all out I got them from the shelf of the local chemist ...impulse purchase They cost a fortune and for only 30 tabs. Useless at the rate you chomp. However, I normally get my supplements from healthydirect and see that they are now in stock there; http://www.healthydirect.com/product/0259/d.jsf the only trouble with them is they are not the fastest on delivery. If you can go cold turkey for a week to ten days I reckon they are your best bet.

Ran the same 4 miler that I did last Sunday and found it much harder going today Can't blame the knees as they are still pain free just felt a bit unfit. I think I may have had some sort of virus this week so I'll put it down to that. ...course there is also the fact that my "running" which was everyday and then slipped to every non-training day, now seems to be congealing around a Sunday morning splutter. Will try a bit harder next week.

Feckin' legs are killing me. Think perhaps I hadn't fully recovered from last week and as soon as it got heavy on the leg press they were seizing up on me. Was truly painful on the hack squats and couldn't really finish the leg extensions. Normally when they get like this during a session I just do a few minutes on the bike and it frees them off enough to carry on. Not tonight. All that did was make 'em burn even worse and ended up doing Frankenstein walk back to car. On the bright side... at least I managed to spell seizing correctly this week.
