Legs today and to be honest up until Sunday I was still suffering from the most crippling DOMS from last week's session that I thought I might have to pass. Felt a bit better yesterday so started making big plans.
Part of the big plan was to take some of the volume off the front squat and have a bash at 'something heavy'. This was ruined by the fact that when we got there the fat bar was on the rack the thin bar on the bench. Sulking like a girl who has just been told; "No you can't have a pony...and I really mean it this time." I was basically just biding my time at 60kg until the other bar became available. Course when it did I had forgotten how to get my grip on that one and was basically all over the shop. Plans for heavy abandoned lets just do the 100 like last week.
100kg - off to a decent start then at rep 3 it slid off my left delt I was so fkkkkkkin mad by this stage that I did another 7 reps on pure rage.
Great. Now I haven't gone heavy and I've d1cked up the reps. Brilliant.
Some logic is applied to the effect that if I can only get 3 reps before it starts fallin off I might as well go heavy.
120kg x 3
130kg=PB - oh fkkkkk when I said heavy I didn't think it would feel that fkkin heavy.
Why I would do that and then think of trying 140 is beyond me.
140kg PB
To be honest I had a bit of help unracking and it was probably only to parallel (I don't think it was high though) but my over-riding memory is of being scared sh1tless. It felt like a truly hideous amount of weight. Horrible. Don't try this at home etc etc
Interesting to look back on from a safe distance though
Also sulked my way through some back squats and leg exts. I think I was judging my performance against the pain of last week and thinking I wasn't trying hard.
I might need to get a grip before I do myself a mischief.
