Eumastas, the son of Critobulus. Archaeological excavations on the Greek island of Thera uncovered a 1,058lb boulder, dated to the sixth century BCE, bearing the inscription “Eumastas, the son of Critobulus, lifted me from the ground.” He must have been a strong mother licker... or they were lying.

^^ Good find, but there is a living man stronger than that, who has the strength of 260 horsepower (30,000men) and can bend coins with his eye-lids, he dare not shake your hand for breaking the bones; .......this strength was bestowed on him by almighty Allah himself!! He cannot work because he is too powerfull, and is by law not allowed to enter police stations, has sex 15 times a day and can pull a train.

To answer the OPs question seriously though, I think Dominic Filiou could be if he had got his game together, which he never seemed to do at the times when it counted unfortunately. I saw him in person once and it literally totally freaked me out that he was still reasonablly lean for a strong man at 6'5" and 400lbs Proven strength though, I gotta go with someone like Bill Kazmaier or one of the other multiple world champion WSM for all round strength and able to produce it when it counted.

^^ Wouldn't exactly say he preacher curled 150lbs looking at the 1cm range of motion LOL .....Not that I'm saying I could do better even with half the weight, but Id be more impressed if he did 1 curl at 100lbs with a full range of motion than that 1cm movement at 150lbs I've seen vids of him before though and no doubt he is one strong MOFO J

And a nice smash of the db into the floor when he's finished 'curling', despite having spotters on hand that could have taken it from him. Cool.

It's an impossible question to answer because there are different definitions of strength, and this is reflected in the different types of main strength sports. Strongman involves a lot of endurance and conditioning as well as limit strength, whereas powerlifting is purely about limit strength. Malanichev is surely one of the strongest squatters of all time but he probably wouldn't be that great at strongman. Whereas you have guys like Savickas doing sick sh1t in strongman comps but they wouldn't have as big 1rms as top powerlifters. Another variable is the complexity of the lift, ie in weightlifting. Rezazadeh can snatch and C&J far more than any strongman or powerlifter, but does that mean he is stronger or he has just mastered the incredibly complex movements better? Way too many variables...
JOURNAL I'm tougher than leather, I'm smoother than suede, Always never broke 'cos I'm usually paid.

My mate, Big Dave. He doesn't even train but he is stronger than all the WSM competitors put together, this one time he tried benching for a laugh and did 800kg of 10 reps
