Someone off another forum is getting one, a few guys are looking at scratching the chin, so we can epxect two things.

The screen is TFT, but TFT decribes technically all flat screens...but could still be ****.
Customer service wont exist...........as in you deal with the person who sold ya them and thats it really.

Screen is same resolution as my phone - 7 inch vs 4.3 = 65% more surface area, same number of dots, so pixel density will be pretty gash.

There are some stupidly cheap tablets en route from asia, was reading about them the other day. Screen quality is going to be the main fail point IMO, and the processors will be less 'proven', and certainly less swift than something from Nvidia.

Spotted the catch !   ... Its running Android.

...Seriously, maybe ICS has sorted things out ? , but I held the same hopes for honeycomb and it turned out to be same ol' same ol'. If an ICS tablet is going to give a decent experience I imagine we'll see evidence in the upper end of the market before it filters down to the generic Chinese variants.
That said, £99 is worth a punt.

Best thing that can happen to any Android phone is that Cyanogenmod take an interest. I would actually like to find out if the same applies to tablets too ? so may buy a Tablet solely for this purpose.
CM9 is in a pre-alpha state on the Note already, so only a matter of time for that too.

Dont think they would give much attention to this though.

Realisitaclly you are more or less dealing with it as it comes in teh box, thought they have the update for ICS, it doesnt have a market on it, but really I use my tablet for web, and email, maybe iPlayer and the like, and the iPad is showing is slowness with webpages now.

The next high end tablet will be w Windows Metro one now, but thats at least late this year!

On another note...some ****er never paid up for my selling the S2 on ebay......cnut!

On the contrary, I'd say if there is a reasonable quality sub £100 tablet that is out there, the modders will be all over it. Look at the development on the Advent Vega - mines running a reasonably flawless Honeycomb at the minute (some bugs, but meh, tonnes better than GB) - and there is an ICS rom in 2nd alpha which is already taking advantage of full hardware acceleration.

Since Jess got her iPhone the other week I've played with it a reasonable amount, same as mates iPads - IMO android kicks it to touch completely, way more intuitive and usable. But that's a preference I guess.

Did you send out the S2???

Have to say I am loving the Galaxy Note , I gave in and flashed a Custom ROM / Kernal otherwise the lag was silly ,  all running smooth now though and very much looking forward to trying ICS on it.
I still feel the UI & experience is lagging behind the iOS though, as you say it is personal preference. to me there is a night and day difference between picking up an iOS or WP, or even Web OS  device and swiping through the menus , and picking up an Android or Symbian device and doing the same.  But then to be fair I am on the lookout for things like that , a few years back we all used phones that were severely clunky and laggy and no-one batted an eyelid

Yea its deffo personal preference, but at least I can say I gave it a good go lol, theirs pieces I love on droid, but some are just unbearable for me lol. With Droid you get the chance to use it at least on for instance, something like this!

And no way I sent the phone till the money was sitting in my account lol.

For me though...WP has blown iOS out of the water, if Google stop being absolutle cnuts when it comes to blocking WP from having an offical API App ( the absolute best mobile Youtube App I have ever used on ANY mobile OS was removed on the 1st!!!), then the next update could be HUGE for them...stuff is lacking, but if poeple got one in their hands for 10 mins they would drop Droid I feel.

Cu3ed I seem to remember there was a good 3rd party youtube app for WP - Can't remember what it was called but it had a slug or something on the youtube icon  , worked much better than the official app IMO !

MetroTube..thats the one im talking about..its still in my phone and signing in, but Google have blocked HD streaming I bevlieve and refuse to give the Devs a way to use it.

“Unfortunately, Google has refused to allow Microsoft’s new Windows Phones to access this YouTube metadata in the same way that Android phones and iPhones do. As a result, Microsoft’s YouTube “app” on Windows Phones is basically just a browser displaying YouTube’s mobile Web site, without the rich functionality offered on competing phones. Microsoft is ready to release a high quality YouTube app for Windows Phone. We just need permission to access YouTube in the way that other phones already do, permission Google has refused to provide.”
