How knackered are you, can we talk a bit about general knackeredness in your case. Often after an hours cross trainer I am beat... all day hardly functioning. Do we wait until we feel fully well and energetic to go back or do we push through it and teach the body to adapt the hard way. Falling asleep at 715pm!!

^If you're knackered for a whole day after an hour on a cross trainer you need to get working at it.

1. Sure why not. 2. Yes and No, it show that yr muscle has made an improvement from its initial stage, however it can also caused by other factors such as yr lifestyle , your body type and yr method of training. 3.Yeah, and keep up doing that, it helps you from injuring yrself and preventing further progress 4.Yes, that is a part of the observations and can help you estimate yr rate of improvements from yr muscle building workouts. 5.Don't do that, it will cause imbalance and will affect your daily progress, if you have a muscle recovery plan and and a structured diet then you can do the failure .Well, doing it to the limit of yr muscle can stand will make yr muscle swell it depends whether you can recover in a faster rate if not you r not going to make any progress. So think twice when doing failure. My final advice is do it in balance.

If we are not doing it to failure. How do we know that we are tiring the muscle sufficiently for growth?

^ go back and read the whole thread, it is more than covered. Failure is one way to stimulate growth, but there are many more. Look at the difference in how athletes train now to 10 years ago. Training to failure in professional sport is a thing of the past.
