a good rule of thumb when dieting, regarding carb portions, is to measure them against your clenched fist, this way you wont get fat,
I read and followed that, body for life by bill phillips, also there is a cracking book, eating for life, great recipees for healthy meals..

Well thanks to stupid snow I didn't get to go to the pub last night, instead I got to sit and wait in the car for 1.5hrs whilst Jess did her dog grooming course... actually surprised I don't have frostbite on my damn toes.

Upshot was a nice relaxing beer in front of the TV when I got in - which made me realise just how much I'd cut down drinking in the week without consciously trying to.

Back training tonight - last little bits of DOMs should of gone from my calves/arms by this evening. Feel like giving myself a real hammering tonight, toying with idea of going through full body twice if time permits - either way I'm going to step up the tempo significantly.

Alright Tony, cheers for the advice yesterday.

I did fullbody on Tuesday, only 1 exercise per body part but back and quads are sore as hell.

Well Turkey is now done for the week, back to my friday cheat McDs...

I sat down the other day and realised that I spend well over £300 a year in the golden arches - so I'm massively cutting down my meal size, just going to have a regular 1/4lb meal....!!!

lol, not good is it? I've a feeling I'll be starving as I leave there today

This week I've come to a conclusion - obscene turkey intake = rapid condition loss for me!! Last 3 days I've had ~700g turkey each lunch, felt great, tasted great, etc, but hilariously it's quickly made a noticable difference to my belly.

Clearly, if I thought about it, they were rather large meals, and my calories did go a bit too high, but I didn't expect this. So going forwards I will be ditching the turkey (temptation to eat a tonne is too great), and just proceeding with the chops. I will raise/lower cals on a week by week basis by using more or less cheese with my veg. I've still got enough fat reserves to be growing, so overeating is for now, in the bin.

                  It will resume later on!!!

Workout went well, but ended up being rushed. Getting massive pumps in forearms still, and chest was bursting too - I've never had a good chest, so it's something I'm hitting hard to try and get  a result out of.

Walking Henry with weighted for a couple of miles tonight, should be good

Couldn't you just make it last longer? 700g in one sitting is a lot. If i had two big chicken breasts i'd feel like a greedy fat git and that would be 500g tops. Bear in mind i'm the better part of 20stone and you eating that is quite a feat! (feast even )

That's the issue - it's there, it will be eaten!! Far too much protein and cals to justify as a single meal when eating through the rest of the day.

If I were to adopt the "hunters" 1 meal a day style approach, then maybe, but I'm not, so I won't!

lol, thanks, I've never had a problem with my appetite, when I train it increases quite a bit to boot. A regular 1/4lber meal is going to feel like a damn snack this lunch time...

LMAO at the snack comment. I had my first proper meal cooked by somebody else last night as my brother cooked fajitas for me and my old housemate coming round. Certainly didn't feel remotely full - far too little chicken and too much salad/veg/tortilla for me - but god i have proper gut upset this morning.

I hardly eat really clean, but i do stick to the basics and prepare everything. Puts me off being cooked for !

Have you not tried the Quorn fajita strips? Bit on the pricey side IMO though.

Are they decent? We tried it with pieces, didn't really work...

As expected the McD's really did fill me in the slightest. Hilariously the girl had a very confused look on her face when I only ordered the medium meal!!

That's not good really, reminded me of a girl who used to work there who would start getting my order ready before I got to the front of the queue...

To be fair on the evil golden arch corporation the point is that it's just meat and normal additives - salt and pepper etc. Not the other crap that gets added in to bulk up the patties.

Not that i refrain from the stuff, but it is rare that i have it. Guess you could call it a guilty pleasure. Can't see the point in eating crap all the time, but equally i think carefully eating clean and needing to know everything about your food is the wrong side of a balanced diet.
