Deadlifts following squats must have been a killer. Bet you're feeling it today mate?

Little sore, felt very strange. 140 for 5 would normally be a breeze but that was hard work.  Trying to reduce my volume on deadlifts as I think that is what has been killing my progress. The stronglifts 5x5 programme advocates 3 x per week squatting and 1 set of 5 on deadlifts after squats as being enough as they work very similar muscle groups. Going to give it a go and see what happens.

Seasoning is the key mate. Have 3 or 4 pepper grinders with various mixes in to liven food up. Salt, chilli and garlic in one, Salt, lemon grass and chilli in another etc. Also have homemade sauces in the fridge. 2 sauce bottles at the moment, one with olive oil and jalapeno peppers blended, another with tomato, garlic, roasted peppers and olive oil blended.

I was mate, not on the same day as squats though. Looking back now I think it may have been too much never allowing me to fully recover, especially if i did it twice in one week. I think working up from an empty bar in 20k increments for 5 reps to one balls out set of 5 should provide enough volume and stimulus to move the weights up.

Feel like dog turd at the moment. Very little sleep the last 2 nights, woke up yesterday with what I thought was a headache, turns out it was migraine from the symptoms, never had one before and don't want another, crippled me for 8 hours. Had headaches on and off since April last year when I started my meds, normally more annoying than anything.

Was debating if I should train or not tonight but went anyway, pleased I did now but god it felt hard. Completed all my lifts with the increase in weight but it was one big grind.

Migraines are horrendous mate. You did well to blank it out and do the session, good work. Guess the training took your mind off it for a bit when you could have been suffering the thing sat at home.

Just felt odd the day after when I trained, been to the docs today and getting full bloods done to see if anything is wrong, had eyes checked as well which were ok. Been 3 days now and still felling light headed/dizzy etc. Hopefully its a one off.

Maybe the meds are disagreeing with you mate.

I had some extensive blood tests a couple of years back as I was getting dizzy spells. They were clear but I put the dizziness down to doing incline and decline work, especially on leg pressing. I ended up with an MRI scan as well but there was no problem with my brain (though others will differ). I was told to drink more fluids!

I sometimes get migraine attacks from working too long at a computer or from the bright lights in the warehouse. I also stopped using my mobile in the dark, eg in bed, as that was straining my eyes also.

See if the tests show anything mate. Hopefully not.

Can't see anything wrong with that session mate, despite feeling a little groggy. Hopefully you'll be back on form too bud. Any more dizziness?

Little dizzy yesterday, pretty much gone today, hopefully back to normal at the gym on Monday. Really want to crank it up in the gym and get the weights up. Considering entering some PL comps in the over 40 category in 18 months or so depending how the gym work goes at somewhere around 90kg.

Good session tonight apart from the hoofwankingbungle**** who decided to poke me and ask how long I would be while descending for the 3rd rep of my 5th set on squats. Lost all concentration and promptly collapsed under the weight, safety bars in place thankfully and no injuries. Said twat was promptly educated on proper gym etiquette and should he do it again he will be wearing the bar around his neck . Regrouped and completed my last set.

Squats
10 x bar
10 x 60
5 x 80
5 x 100
3 x 120

Can you believe that twat??! You were sooooo lucky there to get the bar back safely. I think I'd have promptly done as you threatened and made him wear that oly as an iron necklace.

Anyway, good session besides bud
