Training a newbie up! 26 August 2011 18:31 (permalink)
Hi guys, for everyone who doesn't know me, I'm Tom, and I am the director of Fit Body Promotions. I am also a competive Bodybuilder and have done fairly well. I have opted to take a year out as I want to fully enjoy my new daughters 1st year, but that is not to say I am out of the game! I am currently prepping a guy for his 1st ever show.Just to make it clear, I am not a trainer, or a nutritionist butI know what i know, and I am always flattered when someone asks me 'How do I get a body like yours?'
So Santino comes to me and takes his top off for the intial assesment, he is is OK shape, and gentically has all the right pieces, with 10 weeks to get ready, this is totally do-able! Then he hits me with the bombshell, HE HAS NEVER SEEN A SHOW BEFORE! But he wants to train for something to aim for! So lets get going! Lets get going!

First thing is to take him to a show - why not the UKBFF in Leicester next weekend?

Yeah I wouldn't dream of doing a show without watching a couple first!  Good luck with this.

Hi James, Yes we thought about the Leicester show, its either going to be there or Fitness Britain with Renee, we are planning to get Santino on the agency as soon as we get some great photos of him! It would be great for him to go along and support John at Leicester, they did a job together for Fit Body Promotions in London and have been getting on since!

Since I last posted, we have managed to get Santino some work for Fit Body Promotions. He is not in competiton shape yet, but this job was perfect for him, he went down to London with one of our other models, John, and the two of them dressed as spartans for a party at a top London hotel. He is coming into shape great, but I am concerned, ck of the V festival!he is die back today from a week long lads holiday, off the back of the V festival! He swears he has kept up training and diet, but I am not sure! Well, I just have to see, this sort of a situation is a test of dedication, and how much you want it! We are also trying to get him to a show, we have the choice between Leicester and Fitness Britain this weekend! It will be good for him to go to Leicester as he can cheer on the other model John, in his quest to qualify for the British (which he will). But I would also love for him to represent us at Fitness Britain! Before he left, San was right on track, I just hope this week hasn't blown it!

I trained Santino for a while, great potential, but a bit of a loose cannon, struggles to get the concept of dieting 100% if he can get his head round it he could do very very well, good luck Tom!

Well, Santino went to his first show at the weekend, and loved it! After his holiday he has not lost any of his shape or size, which I am please about! As you said Micky, at first I was worried that he wouldn't be as strong with the diet, but he is focused, and with 4 weeks to go til show day, its all to play for!
