Training on a cycle

When on cycle is it more beneficial to train using a routine that hits muscles more frequently, eg. fullbody or upper/lower to take advantage of improved recovery time and hormonal state of the body, or would a split, eg. push/pull/legs have just the same results?

I just stay on a split but work my weak bodypart twice a week, in my case my chest, i would hit it on wed/sun. A split is better than a FB for mass anyway imo.

Train as you would off-cycle mate - do what works for you and don't worry about getting too hung up on changing things for the cycle - same things stand on cycle as off: good diet + training with intensity + adequate rest = results

I personally think most people have big deficiencies in their training which are masked by use of anabolics. I definitely think you need to train differently whether you are on or off since your body is far more responsive to the training stimulus when on versus off. In fact, training during the cycle versus post cycle is one thing I have addressed previously in an article at our site.

i do full body workouts 3 times and week and made good gains on it and plan on doing same routine when i got on my epi cycle. my mate was saying you should do high reps 12-15 on cycle and post cycle do 8 - 10 rep range to keep gains. anyone have any input on that? cheers

I've seen a few people mention that approach mate and it has its merits, not least in injury mitigation/prevention I would expect - depends on how it fits with you personally. For me it would work only at one time of year due to my training periodisation being optimised around rugby seasons. For someone with a programme based around hypertrophy with no set dates involved it may be appropriate.

Fair enough mate, as siad do what's good for you. If you want to follow the doctrine that lowering reps in pct is a good thing, you could always go to a 5-6 rep range in pct and for a few weeks afterwards.

As mentioned, I would keep training how you usually train, but if you feel like you have more in the tank at the end of a session, then add in another exercise or a couple more sets.

hI Guys Would anyone happen to have a suitable program that rep range is between 10-15 please? I have been doing following split at 5-8 so can either use same split just up the rep range or do something different? Chest/Triceps, Legs, Cardio, Back/Biceps, Shoulders/Traps
