I used hyperbolic mass, i had to halve the servings because the shakes were so damn thick. I drank 3 half servings a day and tried to eat as much as possible, I didn't feel particularly bloated or anything. I understand that it is a rip off because carbs are dirt cheap, but this is the only thing that has managed to put any weight on me, granted it was only a couple of pounds but I went through 8kg of the stuff. AND I didn't put any fat on! :D but as it is such a rip off, anyone have any ideas as to some good products I should try next? Still desperately trying to put on weight, but possibly want to try something more "clean". Any ideas?

Just buy some whey and some instant oats... Under £75 for 15kg from Myprotein (5kg whey, 10kg oats) If you have 50g whey and 100g oats in a serving it'll last 100 days, 75p/serving teaspoon of peanut or almond butter and some milk and you've got a good high calorie shake, not sure how much but I'd guess at nearly 1000 calories? This is what I have mid-morning.

Haha, cheers, this is all the advice I ever get :P was wondering though, if your looking for just lean muscle, do you need any carbs at all? I only have a very basic grasp of the science behind nutrition.

Depends what you look like at the minute? If you've got a decent size then you could just use whey sort your diet out to reduce fat, but if you're a skinny kid wanted to get big then you'll need carbs

It's undoubtable the cheapest method mixing your own shakes, If you shop around you can get the whey cheaper, I was just using mp as an example as I know they do instant oats and peanut butter.
