Theres no way you can draw a conclusion on how you will find it without tasting it...I remember trying my first sample of unflavoured whey and I thought it was okay and went down well enough...however, I tried a different brand that a friend had and I really found myself forcing it down and wishing I didn't have to! I would say that even if it had a milk flavour you might not like it....I love some choc flavoured wheys and dislike others...they both have a choc taste though, if you get what I mean. P.S I also love milk - but I hate cottage cheese....everyone has a different palette!

Thanks for the replies peeps. I actually just bit the bullet and ordered some. I can't afford to buy anything else at the moment anyway so what it tastes like is a moot point right now!

Its just more hassle to make.

You lads are a bunch of pussies... Just received my tub of unflavoured from bulkpowders... It's lovely! It's nice and creamy but also subtle, it makes a very very welcome change from all the flavoured branded whey I've been using. I wasn't expecting it to be 'tasty', but I was very surprised. Two thumbs up!

I'm constantly suprised by the amount of emphasis that is placed on the taste of supplements. They're supplements, not snacks or meals. Protein and MRP bars are an exception as they're suppossed to mimic a treat. I've recently purchased SP250 and braced myself for something that was going to taste like CEE judging by all the remarks about how bad it tastes. It was fine, tastes of oranges.

stinking_dylan I've recently purchased SP250 and braced myself for something that was going to taste like CEE judging by all the remarks about how bad it tastes. It was fine, tastes of oranges. I thought the same about UL nox xtreme...from what everyone else was saying I was expecting the world to come to an end when it hit my tongue...however, I didn't think anything of it...wash it down with a bit of water after and it was fine. I would say however, that I don't think there is anything wrong with people wanting certain supplements to taste nice. A lot of people go through 3/4 shakes a day, and if it is available and people are willing to pay a little extra for it, I don't think there is anything wrong wanting them to taste nice. I don't see any reason that a shake can't be a treat. The fact that they just supplement a diet does not mean that taste has to be irrelevant. It may be irrelevant with regards to the effect of the product, however why not enjoy drinking it if you can afford to spend a little extra. We will pay a little extra for a nicer car because we use it every day, why not pay a little extra for a nice tasting shake if we drink them every day...??

Yes, I suppose, I just think it a bit odd to avoid a supplement just because it doesn't taste nice.

stinking_dylan Yes, I suppose, I just think it a bit odd to avoid a supplement just because it doesn't taste nice. I agree. Especially when it does a better job than others...think extreme nox, CEE etc. However, if there are better tasting alternatives, I personally can't see a problem with opting for them if you are willing to spend the cash.

I myself tried few unflavoured samples and it tasted too cheesy to me and in the end had to add flavour.

CK: as you'll have seen with flavoured so it is with unflavoured - personal preference.

The key issue with unflavoured is very simple - your mind expects something sweeter from a powdered drink. So what you basically get is everything bar the sweetness. For me this is a bit of an issue but as was stated many, many times taste is very, very subjective. How and ever the absolute best advice anyone can get is buy say 5kg of unflavoured and a few kgs of flavoured and do halfNhalf and the taste is much better. Dare I say doing this invariably improves the taste of the flavoured whey as well!
