Unlicenced boxing

Went to my first live boxing match on last Sat.

Really enjoyed it.

Although the majority of the fighters were fighting a debut bout or a bout with under 5 fights on record, they were actually pretty cool to watch.

When youre there, you really appreciate how fit you have to be. I mean, sparring about 3 rounds start to take their toll on me but fighting full pelt is another story.

My mate won debut fight (with me the loudest in the crowd egging him on and shouting, eat him, come on!), it was a good night.

Id recommend if you havent done it before, to watch a live fight, boxing, mma or any full contact.

I then watched kick boxing the next day, a mates mate fought, came in 2nd but damn, it was boring as heck. No contact, some guys were just winning by just tapping their opponents head guard or body.

Next, its Muay Thai in Seven oaks this sat, also a mma event in watford colesseum next month iirc and an annual Muay Thai events on Dec 5 iirc.

A mate of mine is fighting at the Watford one Stone so may see you there.

Am based in Oxfordhire, South Midlands, but can travel. Am ex-Army and did a lot of boxing while i was in, and have kept training since. am 5' 10" and 12 Stone.

I boxed on 3 of them in 1996, I done a ticket deal, I got half the money of the tickets I sold,  earnt £3,000 a fight, 4 rounders, luvvly jubbly

Fought on one unlicensed boxing show years ago when I was kickboxing...was mad...I borrowed some fancy boxing shorts and boots to look the part, my opponent charged into the ring wearing trackies and airmaxes! I have to admit I got bossed, but the crowd seemed to like that I kept fighting, got a big cheer when the lad came over and lifted my hand up, I didn't expect that level of respect.
 
To be honest, some of the thai boxing and full contact shows I've been to have been more moody...one time in Birmingham this guy complained about how late the show was going on and all the dodgy matchups, the promoter told the door men to not let him leave the place til he'd fought!
