no worries mate, your weight goals are definately do-able in the time frame you have set out, if everything is in place

the feeling sluggish at heavier weight i reckon is bf related,  over time as i gain muscle i can get to a previous weight but much leaner and feel fine

Echo the above words. 1st time I hit 17st I vowed never again.... but that was with a 40" waist and it's that aspect which is deserving of 'never again'. Only a few lbs shy of 17st now but with my current condition, and obvious year round attention to cardio, I feel fine at this weight (so long as I don't have to run for an hour in a 30deg sports hall LOL)

hi mate good journal youve got going here. im amazed how you retain so much strength off cycle!!

how do you manage it? after a cycle i find myself slowing slipping backward no matter how hard i try, mainly on bench. i think its due to the water thats cushioning the joints/filling muscle bellies disappearing.

any tips for retaining strength post cycle mate?

i will also admit that i do have a couple beers here and there when i perhaps shouldnt so that could be a major factor.

so , as i havent trained for bout 10 days now, wil be doin an upper sessin tonight, cardio tomorro, and then a lower sesh on friday.

this last 10 days or so has been pretty sh1te t be honest.. loads goin on in my head!! dont really know where im at.. but ive tried t stay on top of it, applied for a butt load of graduate jobs so fingers crossed for those as i really really want to be in full time, well paid work very soon! ive been too long out of it!

depending on how im feelin i may revert back to the simple 5 day splti i wasdoin the other week.. but my training partner/ housemate is now switching his routine to an upper lower split, and i could really do with the training partner again to be honest! but anyway, gonna get this week out the way and see where im at.

No doubt you'll be hitting numbers that will piss me off straight away LOL

Anyway, dude, I hope things straighten out for you quickly. I'm sure once life settles down and a couple of things start to go your way all will fall into place. You just need that change of momentum.

I've been slacking on my cardio.... the extra volume on my compounds has swallowed up my gym cardio time and the crap weather has meant little cycling to work too.

That'll teach ya for being a lazy fecker

Get rolling and stretching and keep active. It's when I'm lounging about that my back is at it's worse, you need to keep on top of it and get that focus back. Ride the wave and come out fighting, dude!

Fcuk it, dude. You know what. If your head isn't in it then kick back and enjoy yourself. Hook up with mates, keep your feet wet in the gym to tick over but set yourself a date to get back to hitting it properly - 1st July or something. In the meantime just focus on doing what you need to to get your head straight and get things back on track.

How's that sound?

Wide grip pull ups-

legs today-

Smith machine squats- feet approx 1 ft forward- 8-12 reps (weights = only plates added, not inclusive of bar)
bar, 20k, 40k, 60k, 80k
after 80k dropped to 40k x 12 deep, paused squats --- will be keeping these in every week! awesome!

walking lunges- 3 sets (unsure on reps) 10k each hand
paused at stretch, very deep long strides

leg ext.
30x8 each leg * 3 sets,
25x8, 20x8, 15x8*5 sets -- these done with no rest --- SH1T!! extinguisher needed to put the fire out :-(, burn was unreal!

Lying ham curls- 5 sets x 8 reps
40, 47, 54, 61, 68k

Swiss ball ham curls- 2 sets @ BW

did a little trap stuff too t kill time while training partner was training.

good session.
will be keepin these squats in, theyre unreal! will use them in a superset after my normal and box squats. massive stretch and burn in the quads.. enjoyed them a lot! narrow stance as well which really helped.

happy with it today tho.. legs felt ruined after which is good! lower back seems to be easin up again which is nice :-)
