Westy's Journey through the 2011 season Comp pics now on P33 new pic on p35 13 November 2010 11:53 (permalink)

Well i think it time to start documenting my journey into the 2011 season.  Hopefully things will now start moving a little quicker and get a little more exciting.

For those that don't know i competed for the first time in on April 18th as the ukbff south coast in the classic class.
My aim at the time was to get on stage and not look out of place and i did that.  I came 7th out of 10.  which all things considered i was fairly happy with.

However in 2011 i want the win and the qualification for the 2011 british finals.

So how has my off season gone so far?
Well since competing i did a nice 6 week rebound cycle.  Then came off AAS have been off ever since(6months).  It was very tough when i came off at first, i felt lethargic quite a bit, and i did find strength was slowly dropping for the first 6 weeks of coming off at that point things started to stabilise.  Than a couple of weeks later i was ill it was only a 24hours bug but it knocked me for 6 and it took me a few weeks to gain the weight back then i was came down ill again this time much worse and actually ended up in hospital at this point i dropped a lot of weight and lost masses of strength which wasn't coming back quickly due to test levels still being a little low.
Since recovering the training has been going really well, clearly i had strength to gain back but i got that all back now and actually think i have gained a few lbs of lean mass, but also a little too much fat.
I was 13st 2 on stage and i am now 14st 11.

In 2 weeks time i will be going back on and since i have been off for a long time i would expect to get some good quality lean gains thick and fast.
I will be doing a 10weeks bulking, 6 weeks cruise/cut and then 14weeks cut to my first show of 2011 which if i am right should hopefully be the ukbff MT show.

Well thats enough for now i will get some more info later i will try and find some my first show pics and also put up my diet as well.  If you have any questions as away and i will answer them later.

Classic class again for me.  as you will see when i get the photo's up from my first show, i still had probably a good 7lbs or so to lose before being anywhere near condition that would see me challenge for a win in a qualifier.
So i am hoping to come in at the same weight but having gained 7lbs of lean mass, and therefore have 7lbs less fat.

It has been a little rough but i have got through it ok.  I have stayed fairly positive all the way through. Although i have had my moment though as you would expect.

Ending up in hospital was not good.  I was on a drip for almost 24hours and by the time i go back in the gym i was ruined.  I have steadily progressed back upto where i am today.

Ok so i have been working out the breakdown of my diet for my initial 10 week bulk.

              Meal 1
              60g pro powder
              150g oats
              50g PB
              1 Banana

              Meal 2
              200g chicken
              75g rice
              10ml evoo
              75g pineapple

              Meal 3
              200g chicken
              75g rice
              10ml evoo
              75g pineapple

              Meal 4
              60g pro powder
              100g oats
              1 apple

              Meal 5
              60g pro powder
              50g dextrose

              Meal 6
Will vary usually some form of red meat, or salmon, with veg or salad, and then rice or potato.

              Meal 7
              60g pro powder
              25g oats
              50g PB

That diet totals about 4100 cals not including meal 6 though as it will vary.

Thanks buddy... i'm 172cm so that gives me a weight limit of 76kg. TBH though i'm going to come in well under that as i'm currently only 80kg and carrying a little 'off season' weight. Hoping to get to +90kg before cutting

I measured 179.5 cm this year so that give me 85.5kg i will be working on a target of under 85kg, but realistically to get the sort of condition i want i will probably come in near 83kg (was 83.7kg on my last show.) but should have more muscle.

thanks scrubby.  Hopefully it will be a good show next year and will get a slightly better crowd as there won't be the distraction of an england game.

I thought i should out line my training

I usually work with a 4 day split.

                                Shoulders and Biceps
                                Legs
                                Chest and calves
                                Back and Triceps

Plus i normally train abs twice a week before legs and before back(this just cos we are waiting for the other guy that trains with us)

And for the first time ever i am keeping a reasonable level of cardio in, currently at 2hours per week split over 3x40min sessions first thing

I usually aim to get all my training done during the week, so i can the weekends free to rest and recover.

Yeah the show was great, the standard was amazing.  I really wanna be up there myself in 2011.

Personally on the diet side of things i find it it little more difficult to stick to during bulking as i have a little more of a relax attitude it.  During the week i am fine, but over the weekend it can go a little way ward.  However during the prep phase i love it and i am 100% dedicated and only cheat when i am allowed to.
