Imo if bodybuilding 3 sets wont even trigger growth, maybe a bit but not properly compared to a proper workout. I have no set regime for each muscle but i just train to failure like this: Light warm up... Heavy... Medium to failure

Good threat this as its at the perfect time. Lagging biceps - worth training twice a week to help them catch up?

I do zero sets on my biceps due to tendonitis. They were never a strong point so no great loss. What I have found in the past 12mths doing this that whilst they lack a fullness and some size they are stimulated enough to retain a reasonable appearance all the same.

I haven't trained for two years and they're still 17 inches or thereabouts so officially too small to wear a t shirt now. :-(

I'd love decent biceps, as mine are very lagging in size and strength but I see the point about people always thinking weight trainers should have big arms But a fair few girls I know dont care really about a guys arms as they prefer thick necks and broad shoulders over big arms, its mostly guys I have encountered with the bicep issue

hmmmm i was under the impression that biceps are "stimulated" when doing most upper body exercise, and doing any more than 4 sets was over training them,... op - cant see any other reason than its easier to flex a bicep than other muscle group on a personal note, i loathed doing legs day, but now im seeing an improvement, i realy go for it on legs day, and love seeing my leg muscles pumped - i seem to go through periods of loving one muscle group more than another though - arms one week, then back, legs, chest etc... edit: forgot to add, my girlfriend loves my shoulders/traps and says the "thickness" is very masculine.....although i want to get much much bigger/muscular than i am carl

big biceps? or big upper arms? i know which i prefer. large biceps over a tiny tricep does not look good, not even to girls who know no different. and i hate people who ask 'how big are your biceps?' 'oh hold on while i get a knife' 'what for?' 'so i can cut out my bicep and measure it for you'

I hate training biceps and in truth it is always something I very rarely bother to do. It is probably the bicep boys that put me off so much, swinging the heaviest weight with the whole body behind the weight, when they are stood next to a preacher curl, which would probably target them much better with a lighter weight - ego lift anyone!! On a side note how long do they stay pumped? Just wondering so all the bicep boys could time their workouts perfectly on a Fri/Sat night, so the guns are pumped when they hit the town!!

Daari _GM_ everyone wants big arms and chest. its why we all started training. I wanted (and still do) big shoulders yep same here, not everyone wants the bicep boy image and a bit wrong for those who do to think the same applies to us all as we dont all have the same desires or egos for that matter, the sort of shape I would have prefered, but will never get as eat too much crap, is similar to Jason Scott Lee in Dragon, he had wide shoulders, very slim waist and slim but well trained arms with reasonable shape and size to his legs.

My shoulders and traps are getting fairly big now but biceps are still fairly small It is starting to bother me a bit but they will grow in tine just not as fast as the rest of me I might do a few sets if bicep hammer curls every few nights for a mont just to try get them to match better with the rest if me I don't understand why people get obsessed with them, yeah the look good but it's a bit sad seeing them in the gym staring at themselves in the mirror flexing the bi's after every set

Blue_Lagoon3000 AWG annoys the hell out of me as it's always the first thing people ask me to do aswell, I only do 6 sets-ish on my Biceps once a week and they are a resonablesize. but there is one guy in my gym who I'm sure trains them everytime I see him there, his arms are huge (and his shoulders) but thats about it, just looks weird Your not maximising your gains imo mate, arms are best to failure imo/e i do about the same tbh would you say the same about me? biceps dont need alot of training if other areas are trained right
