Is that a bodymedia on your arm? If so it will make t really easy to lean bulk. Stay around 300kcal above your maintenance calorie amount. Get around 1g/lb for protein, sufficient amount of fat and make the rest up in carbs. The reason I say to lean bulk is it will be easier to cut later when you have more lean mass. It was a nightmare for me being lean but weighing 130lbs, I was gaining weight on 2,400kcal! Since gained a good bit and bulking on around 3300-3500kcal. There's not point cutting away to something that's not there.

you need to bulk looks like you dont have much muscle i would say to do a lean bulk like liddy said i would say do a 3500 - 3800cal medium carb high protien, high fat you wont gain to much fat as long as you dont go to over the cals etc you will gain some fat as does everyone when they bulk

With your bodybugg work out how much you're burning per week, say you burn 22,500kcal, Just add 2,100kcal to that (300 calorie surplus over 7 days) which is 24,600kcal, and per day that would be 3,500kcal roughly. It depends on how much you workout ect, but using your bodybugg look at you energy expend over each day and week and be in a small overall surplus. If you cut you'll just end up skinny fat and trust me, it sucks.

It's your choice but I think bulking with the amount of bf that you are carrying would be a mistake. Ultimately you will almost certainly gain more fat when you are bulking, get it off now and it's done. Also monitoring your progress visually will be much easier when everything isn't covered by a thick layer of fat. You mentioned the fit of your clothes, bulking now will result in you needing bigger clothes soon and then smaller clothes when you cut if you want to show off your gains. Drop the fat now, tighten the belt a few notches and the watch as your quads start to fill out your jeans.

I'd lose the chub but bear in mind you will end up looking skinny as you aren't carrying much muscle under there, at a glance anyway. Cut then bulk....

Cut until you are happy with your bf level, until you can see your abs for example.

It is difficult, shall i cut or bulk? Dont be swayed by what other people suggest you to do, decide yourself where you want to be make a plan and the most important thing is to stick to it untill you REACH YOUR GOAL! Enjoy training and get strong(er)!

Think about the longevity aspect, are you looking to get ripped quick or lift for a hobby possibly the rest of your life. If the latter then I would simply enjoy it, build a solid foundation before cutting. Bare in mind that if you're very new to lifting, if you eat right and lift right then you will possibly recomp for the first few months end up being heavier yet leaner. But that doesn't last long. As legend said, do what you feel comfortable doing. Only you know what you actually want to do. But what ever you decide to do, DO IT!!!! Don't be back and forth between the two, that's a road to no where, fast.

If I were you I'd trim then bulk. Hit the weights three times a week and add in cardio 4/5 times and get in at least 1g or protein per lbm. Eat healthy and cut the cr*p. Get a good strength programme going and work with higher reps so that when you're ready to bulk your muscles are used to resistance training and you can up the weights and lower reps. This is purely my opinion of course.
Survival Is A Way Of Life!!!! Chris

What is your training experience? How long have you been training and eating the way you are? Generally I would if working with someone in your position 1) concentrate on cleaning up the diet, getting some sort of stability in choices and general set up, focusing of food choices and timing rather than counting calories. 2) Get your strength and familiarity with the big lifts ups as well as adding in a variety of decent quality cardio training, not a huge amount necessarily just enough to increase endurance and horsepower. Get stronger and fitter with a suitable, fairly clean diet and the body composition will sort itself out.
