What would you do if... 18 March 2010 14:01 (permalink)
...you're on the cut, and during one training session you've managed to get the "training effect" on a body part? Would you carry one with your cutting diet, or would you eat more calories for the next x days to feed that muscle?

cheers

I am a tad lost too?

Don't you aim for a 'training effect' every time your training?

          Elaborate on the "training effect"?

            lol sorry.

I just meant, in some sessions, you grow a muscle bigger because you've trained it really hard. I'm not talking about the pump. The pump is okay until about an hour or so after training. I'm talking about new, bigger muscle you've just grown. (for example when you do that last impossible rep that forces a muscle to grow bigger and stays big paring poor diet in the next x weeks/months.)

you know what i meeeeeeean?? :D

Okay here we go, this explains it much better than I! lol

              3. Take advantage of the training effect

When you exert your muscles, especially during high intensity weight training, your muscle fibres are naturally broken down. Your body over-compensates for this by building new muscle that's bigger and stronger than before, so you're able to do the same amount of training with less effort next time. This is known as the training effect. However, as with any building, you need the blocks to do it with. Those blocks are protein, nutrients, good calories and water. The use of sports nutrition products will help you train harder for longer and recover more quickly.

If your cutting and your goal is to cut....then no stick to your cutting diet and you will get your desired effect.
Im assuming that you would be eating a good post work out meal with carbs anyway even when cutting so your muscles will be getting refueled
