I've been on a weight loss kick since the end of January.
I've lost a good amount by simply changing how much I eat, cutting out most of the crap foods, and drinking less (not none!) alcohol.
This has led to my wife, who's a personal trainer (www.getfit4it.co.uk) telling me that I'll not be able to keep the weight loss up without alos doing lots of exercise... so far she's wrong! hee hee - she may be right when I start getting closer to my ideal weight.. we'll see!!
So, I'm 6'6". Back in January I weighed a whopping 19st 7.6lbs
I'm now down to 16st 10lb - and I've had a couple of weeks of being back in the old habits, and rather than pile weight on, I've stayed around the same weight, which is rather a relief!!!
My target for the end of the year is 14 stone...
How have I done it?
To start with, I just ate less - not suddenly 'starvation' less, but rather instead of taking 4 sarnies into work, I'd take 3 - that kind of thing. I also cut out snacking on nuts, and reduced the amount of other snacking, restricting it to only fruit, and then no more than 4 a day.
I stopped buying ANYTHING from my works canteen - even the soups were packed with fat.
I kept eating normal evening meals, just watched how much I was having, and if I got hungry later on, I just made a massive mug of black, redbush (caffeine free) black tea.
And that's it!
I'm terrible about doing regular exercise - I do a bit, then lose interest. I do some cycling, really enjoy it for a week or two, then get bored and want a break from it...
So controlling food intake has really been the only route for me!
So far, it's still working
