My story began back in 1999, up till then I had always had active jobs which basically alowed me free reign to eat & drink what I like. My weight was approx 17st and height 6ft 3, due to me having a large frame I carried it well and had only had the slightest beer belly.
In 2000 I started a new job, but it was soley office work, mostly nights and long weekends. This were the trouble started with my eating habits. For whatever reason(boredoom probably) I started to eat rubbish, and in huge quantities, when on nights I would eat a large meal before leaving home and during the night I would also order a takeaway, all this along with a bag full of crisps, chocolate bars etc. This carried on for a few years and I slowly noticed the weight start to pile on, clothes started to get smaller, my skin would hurt as I suppose it was stretching, and before long my weight had balooned to what we think was between 28 & 30 stone
At this time I noticed my whole demeaner had changed, I was sluggish, food was always on my mind, I would worry about not having enough food during the day to get by, I wore the same clothes because they were the only ones to fit and hid the mess I had become.
It was back in 2008 when my daughter was born that I finally realised what I'd become and then decided to do something about it. I started to eat alot more healthy and a few stone came off, but I seemed to platau and the weight refused to budge....Until last year when a mate invited me along to the Local Gym, I then had a ureka moment and had finally found a place where I loved to be.
I started on a Weight Training program last October and have loved it from day 1, & train 3 mornings a week, this along with a high protein diet, including protein shakes has seen my progress finally starting to see results, my weight has come down to 21 stone, this along with building noticable muscle mass, and I've never been fitter. I am aiming for 17 to 18 stone and hope to be as big as I can get.
I'm not confident enough to post a picture just yet, but will do when my shape gets a bit better.
It's been a right struggle to be honest and the fight isn't over yet, but my advice to anyone who wants to lose weight is to have self discipline, set goals, join your local gym & more importantly have belief in yourself that you can do it.
