What's in your bag on comp day? 03 February 2012 15:49 (permalink)
First PL comp this Sunday and was jsut looking for advice as to what I need to take with me.  Mainly on the food front but if there's anything I've forgotten then let me know.  So far I'm taking................

Equipment
Singlet
Belt
Long socks
Spare short socks
Chalk

Food & Supps
Dextrose tablets
Whey protein in tubs
3 x Energy bars (the ones used by walkers)
Large bottle of water
Energy drinks

Now should I throw some sandwiches or pasta in there too?  Anything I'm forgetting?

when i was doing strongman comps 2 things which i would always stick in my bag were headache and indigestion tablets. neither take up any real space but a headache or indigestion would really easily put me off form

      Singlet x 2
      Legal t-shirst x 2
      Long socks
      Undies (legal)
      Belt
      Wrist wraps x 2
      Various footwear
      Fed card (in wallet)
      Band
      Hockey ball
      Chalk
      Smelling salts.
      Tissues
      Pain killers

Food; I have food to take if the meet runs very quick eg protein powders (portioned up in shakers normally), solid food that I would normally eat if the meet runs slower and some snacks. Plus some caffinated drinks. I don't use large amounts of caffiene though. Def couner productive for me on a long day. I never assume I can be fed and watered at a meet although 9/10 you can.

All above looks like a long list but its not really. Most of teh important kit (belt, shoes, wraps) are alwasy in my gym bag anyway.

Just out of interest, what's the typical setup for warmups at a powerlifting event?

OK, what's the Hockey ball for??

Legal T-shirts.......hmmmmm I think I may have to go out and buy something today as I only have work T-shirts with a small work logo or other T-shirts with various names on.

Undies I've got a pair of superman briefs.  I presume these are ok?  They'll serve to damage the opposition mentally too when I weight in

Painkillers isn't a bad idea either.

In terms of quality of kit? Very variable.
