Whey Protein Intake QUESTION 08 February 2012 16:41 (permalink)
Hey guys
I've been working out for about 2months now and i have gained little weight. So i bought Whey Protein Supp to help with my workouts

I've heard i should be taking the whey in 3 servings. Morning, Post-workout and before bed
I was wondering how much of the whey protein should i really be taking in one serving?

I am currently 5'5 and 143lb. 18years old.

There is no set time you should or should not take whey.

You should have a rough diet goal - from what you have said you are attemping weight/size gain I believe in which case you need to be eating approximately an average of 200cals per day more than your body uses to make lean muscular gains.

I would recommend 30% of these cals come from protein as a starting point and this protein and all other food intake to be spread into digestible portions over the course of a day.

Once you have worked out roughly how much to eat and what you are eating you can assess where in the day you will benefit from additional protein intake.

Maybe make use of the nutrition and diet section to start a thread giving your size, age, weight info etc and a sample days food etc

Whey in the morning and straight after workouts are good times. Protein from foods will do at other times. Even in the morning you can just have high protein foods in your breakfast. 30-40g servings should be fine.

        as above .

try to go for a gram of protein to pound of your bodyweight. It doesnt matter enterirly how you get the protein but as you say a shake in the morning PWO and before bed are good times but remember your only supplementing read fool not taking the place of.

If you carry on and want to up the protein in the future you can.
