Work related stress

Hello all,

I have just been signed off with work related stress, due to a management restructure that has left me a position that makes it very hard for me to go back work with my new line manager. She has already been proven to have her own agenda and has on more than one occasion stabbed me in the back.

I have records of 'harassment' from there appointed office manager and also have been verbally abused by the MD well i say abused he unloaded a round of f***s on me on monday for something i had nothing to do with.

I also have knowledge of 'diary' being kept one me how long my breaks are toilet fag etc...
I have also been victim to the office manager using my own personal problems to her advantage by not telling management what was happening with me this resulted in me getting £500 deducted from my 2008 Christmas wage for sick time not reported to management by her thus making me look like a S**t and her like an angel!

If a am honest i am have been S**t on from a great height and i know they are trying to push me out and it is working.

What i would like to know is what my rights are am i entitled to full pay as i am signed off with work related stress and also has anyone been in this kind of situation before and what did you do?

With regards to what you're entitled to be paid when off sick, it will probably depend on what your contract says.

Technically your employer should only have to pay statutory sick pay which is about £80 a week. However, if your contract says you're entitled to more, then you should get more.

Hey bud i think the terminology your looking for is "Smash em' in"

thanks guys, i have gound out that i am entitled to full pay for 2 months, i am using this time wisely to get out and find a new job .
for all that i would love to 'smash em i'n, i am going down the legal route i believe i have a case foir constructive dismissal!

If you don't mind me asking and don't be offended by this are you a bit soft as they usually victimize the ones that allow them to do so.

Also have you pulled anyone that the manager likes?

Im an office manager and i think think its important that the staff like you and to treat them well.

My girlfriend is due to hand her resignation in tomorrow as the new manager is making her and everybody elses working lives a living hell. Luckily she can pick up agency work immediately so wont have any unemployment time.

I have seen workplace bullying and it really does p1ss me off. You are there to do a job, not to be a target for managment hostility.

am i the only one who would consider a little constructive retaliation????

Ive been in a situation where managers had tested the water with me to see if i could be a victim but i just reacted in a way where they just left me alone.

A friend of mine has just done the exact same thing and got a new job within a month... I was amazed if im honest. 
I would always put the cv of someone with stress issues towards the bottom of the pile with the 'bad backs' etc...

Can look one of two ways IMO

They can't handle stress well and/or are weak
They work so hard that they have unfortunately made themselves ill

I would imagine most people would read it as option 1 unfortunately.

Thats why CV's can be easily faked, its not like you'd put that on is it lol

Surely an employer would want to know previous history and why they left etc... This wouldnt be hard to check... I know i would.

I have no idea about these things, and I've been out of work for sometime.  However cardio exercise has made a real impact on my stress levels.  Maybe sacrifice some weight training time for cardio?
