Working out while on Cycle

Hi guys
Im going on my very first cycle next week and my mate told me that I should workout at least 8 times a week?
I am planning to go on a 5 day split
M - CHEST ABS
T - BACK CALVES
W- SHOULDERS ABS
TH- ARMS ABS
F - LEGS CALVES

Can someone tell me if this is enough or fine? Im doing it bulking phase

    There's only fvcking 7 days! You gonna double up?


    Your mates a billy bvllsh1tter.... 4 times a week is fine, Couple of days off resting and eating will do you good, you grow while you rest, not while you lift.


    If you're bulking I'd just hit a push, pull, legs split, 2 days on, 1 day off, then repeat.

    Too much abs! They need to recover just like other muscle groups.

    If you think that training 8 times a week is good for bulking have you been training long enough/smart enough to benefit from cycle? Some sports require intense hours (I used to do 16 a week when competing in triathlon), beauty of lifting is I now only have to do 3/4 :)

    I do a 5 day spilt. I've played with it a lot and this does me the best. May or may not work for you.
     
    Best starting with the biggest muscles and work down to the smaller muscle
     
    That's what I do anyway
     
    I do Legs or Back First on a Monday depending how I feel
    Next day Leg/Back the one you've not done next
    Chest
    Shoulders
    Arms
     
    Abs twice or three times a week I start them on a monday and see how I feel on the wednesday If I've still got any pain I'll just do them on a Thusday and leave them until the following Monday

    My friend  probably means that he will workout in the morning and at night. Yeh I have been lifting for 1 and a half  year seriously and I am looking to compete bodybuilding next year.
