To be honest, if you say something like that to a women, to get down the gym because she is putting weight on.... then there is a serious lack of respect going on. I tell my wife I love her how she is, be she a size 8 or a size 58.... and if she wants to do a little toning up because it'll make her happy, I know she isnt doing it for me - its for herself. So why not? Like the reason I workout - its for me. But if she wants my support and help, Ill help her. Im not going to say to her what she can and cant do, Im not that sort of guy, especially when it comes to how she looks. Even though she does it to me at times LOL "Move your arm please, I cant breath!" LOL

It's all very nice saying you would love your wife at size 58 but let us be realistic here - there is no way you could have a relationship with a woman the size of a house, it's just impracticle. Seriously though, when people say "I will love you fat or skinny" it is mostly untrue. Your job as a partner is to make yourself attractive to your mate, and if you just let yourself go and expect them to stick around then you are a fool. I don't think it's a shallow feature, I think it's a basic human need to lust.

Some of your comments are coming across very badly.  Do you actually think comments like the above are in good taste or even humorous?
Sparking debate on this forum is good and encouraged, but posting to provoke an antagonistic response or including comments you know will wind people up/offend is not something we want on here.  If it goes on, your posts or threads will just get deleted.

I find this place quite restrictive which is a shame. The majority of my posts are a bit cheeky yes, but I am always joking. I did actually think it was hilarious, I laughed out loud, am I a bad man? :( I guess I have to remember the ladies are a bit sensitive, the opposite of me.

Not really, but I'm sorry you feel that way.  If you don't think MT is the place for you then you don't need to post here - I'm sure there is another forum out there with people posting more to your taste

You're right - nobody has outright complained in the thread to you.  However you shouldn't assume other members would think it the most appropriate outlet to do so as there are other options.   So you have unfortunately failed in your assumptions.  I mean, there have been some subtle giveaways in responses, but if you can't pick up on them then I suppose it isn't your fault, not everyone is adept at that sort of thing!  I posted the above to bring it to your attention because I thought that might be the case.
 
So then, now that it has been brought up, please take notice.  And like I kindly said before, anymore comments that I, or any other mod, think isn't really for this forum, will be removed.

Let us have a discussion. I think the problem here is the word "rape" that I used so candidly. You were clearly offended by this, and I used to find it a taboo subject and not a word I would have in my every day vocabulary but it recent years things have changed. Even though it's the most horrific thing imaginable to happen to somebody, it's now very much used as a joke. I think what happens is, as comedy evolves it has to beat down the barriers and tackle subjects which were previously off limits because really, there is nowhere else to go - it's all been done before. I for one think this is a good thing, because I think it's important to laugh at the sick, uncivilised things we do to each other. Not real events of course, but if we laugh at subject matters like this then they're less serious and less frightening and we can wake up with a smile on our faces rather than fear the outdoors.

Not quite.  You really do make some random assumptions based on very little, or indeed nothing.
 
Where did I say that I was offended by your use of the word 'rape'?  Do you also not realise that I actually moderate this section and therefore might actually be moderating on behalf of others, as well as using sound judgement?
 
I don't know what circles you're involved in to think that 'rape' is now modernly accepted as a 'joke', but I'm pretty sure that isn't the majority.  And if in some sick way that isn't the case, then at least on this forum the subject will not be tolerated as such, ever.
 
I don't care what you think is a good thing - or your philosophising behind it - it is irrelevant.  I've told you in a nice way what isn't acceptable on this forum and if you don't abide by it then you are kindly asked to leave.
