another "help for my other half thread" 28 November 2011 14:26 (permalink)
hi ladies, im sorry to start another thread from a bloke about there wife but im just after a few suggestions about something I dont know to much about!

since having our first child nearly 18months ago my wife is getting quite down about her breats sagging, personally I think theres nothing wrong with them but she would say the same about shoulders but I dont like them! so I know its about how u feel about yourself, Ive read plenty about what can/cant be done with the use of the magic knife and its not something we will be using.  I just wondered if anyone could recommend a good bra for her, she was a 34dd before baby went up to something stupidly big during and after and is now back to 34dd she wants a bra to give her lift and support, like the old wonderbras but I dint think they go up to her size.  I want to buy her one (hence me asking you and not her!) and would just like some recommendations for what you have found to be a good confidence giving bra!
im helping her elsewhere with some chest workouts, swimming etc but the bra area is where I lack knowledge

thanks in advance
simon

Hey there...there are many bras that are good out there, but if you buy her one and it doesn't fit correctly, she will be a bit upset....the size may be right but it may dig her round the back, or not fit correctly at the front and give her a double boob, which doesn't look so good really.

I think it's lovely that you want to buy her a good bra and that would make her feel just lovely...have you thought about buying her a voucher for one of the makes in a big store?  She could go along, get fitted properly by one of the ladies, pick a bra that she likes and I'm sure she would luv you to death for even thinking of her?

Is this for every day wear or a treat/evening wear?  M & S have a nice range for the bigger ladies, and she can get fitted there too. Also, Debenhams do fitting for bras too and  they have a really nice range of bras,  in designer styles if it's for a special pressie, or regular styles she could wear everyday use, running after the little one etc....

    Good luck.

Good advice from NG and Flick.....
If you want to by her a decent bra/underwear..... Here's another option make it a 'couple' thing and take her to a nice little underwear boutique where she can be made to feel comfortable (its more personal than say M&S or John Lewis) and she will get a one to one consultation. You wife will be fitted properly with a bra that will suit her needs and look fantastic too. From there it will build her confidence to then go and get fitted at a larger store.....

Debenhams always has a good selection of larger cup size bras - some really pretty ones too - the Freya range is lovely - supportive, comfy and sexy too.    Dont forget to also get the matching knickers!!    If you really wanted to treat her Rigby & Peller in London is the super top bra place (they do the Queen's bras!)  but she would have to wear it every day cos they are well expensive.   M&S used to be good, but dont really rate their range anymore - nasty digging underwires.

Oh and Agent Provocateur for the saucy stuff - they do go up to DD sizes but they strictly bras for indoors use if you know what I mean
good luck, wish my man would buy me some lingerie....

There is a Rigby & Peller fitting place at Bluewater too if you live near there and they have some beeeeooooootiful bras, but hugely expensive...however, the best thing is there, she can get fitted and then pop off to the other shops and get a bra there for less pennies....

I like Janet Reger underwear, and YES to matching knacks!!!  It's a must....lol...

Getting properly measured, and fitted is the most important bit. So many women do not know their true bra size and thus wear the wrong one which can make things much worse.
