THough to be honest it doesnt sound like a Mac problem, sounds like a problem with the programmes launcher. What version of OSX are you running?...its not Lion is it?

Lion! I normally like lions, they are roarsome yea its like its trying to pick up where I left off instead of just restarting. Lad in work said about time machine, but i didn't have it running at the time so don't think I can 'put everything back' to how it was last week or whenever

I agree look on dev forums, I haven't even bothered updating to lion, don't think its worth it considering leopard does everything I need and more plus its really stable.

Just like to add, after changing to mac, there is no way I am every purchasing a windows piece of junk ever again. My macbook is the one they changed to the bottom end pro back in 2008/9. Aluminium 13.3", still runs unbelievably well. I just find using windows products annoying now. I had an acer before that with screen flicker problems, power supply went 3x, power socket went. Just had to set up a £400 asus X53, all the programs that came with it were corrupt (according to my computer nerd brother). He spent 4 hours reinstalling windows, installing other programs, and generally cleaning up all the crappy pre-installed wastes of time they put on there. I mean now it runs fine but dear god it was brand new.

Your comparing a 1k MacPro to a crappy plastic 400 acer? MS dont put that crap on, Acer do, as much as I love Mac ya cant deny how good Win7 has been. If it took him 4 hours to reinstall windows, then he either has a hardware problem, or he forgot to hit the "ok to reinstall" windows button 3 hours 30 mins before lol.

My acer was £600 at the time. Well it took 3 hours for the stupid thing to make the 5 backup disks for windows. Then spent ages deleting the corrupt files through the registry and whatnot. Not entirely sure about all that. Then decided to just reinstall from a copy of win7 he had. Think it was the professional edition. Yes I am aware it is acer / asus or whoever the manufacturer is that puts that useless junk on there. Win7 is alright, just 100% prefer mac os now, and I wasn't an apple fan at all before. Must admit the £1600 tower my bro has made is ridiculous. i7 extreme edition SSD 8Gb vengeance ram P67 motherboard TUF edition Gainward gtx580 card = Skyrim looking awesome

THen you are one of the few, even the huge fatal code update (10.6 to 10.7) problem that was the solve the errors in 10.6 wouldnt even install for a huge amount of people, so not sure what Apple are playing at, as I said, I know a lot of people who work sole on Macs who haven't touched Lion due to a lot of 3D programmes and software not working properly on it. And, of course, the way 10.6 was randomly turning off peoples WiFi for absolutely no reason. THen of course theirs jsut this slight....tiny problem in the new update. http://lifehacker.com/5881831/mac-os-x-bug-causing-all-apps-to-crash-in-1073-heres-the-somewhat-complicated-fix Theirs nothing wrong with Win7 at all, been using it for over a year now and havnt had a problem with it and have very much enjoyed using it, however, I ALWAYS use an OEM copy of Windows, Windows gets a bad rep cause the likes of Sony, HP, Acer, Dell, putting all their own crapware on it out of the box. I believe in Win8 they are wanting vendors to do away with this completely.

The problem with windows is that it's only a matter of time before it turns to **** unless you reformat frequently. With unix based OS's they're incredibly stable and don't suffer the same degradation over time. With windows you need to reboot every day or so (sometimes several) due to its awful memory management. And that's not to mention that you'll inevitably get infested with viruses and malware on windows which won't happen on a mac.

Havnt had to reformat in the year ive been using it, and no stability problems, no viruses, no malwares, and I use all free anti virus stuff etc, nothing special. Never had to reboot a PC several time a day except when I was building my dads and it turns out their was a faulty RAM stick in it. In fact the only time i have reformatted a copy of XP or sommin, was when I was screwing about and did something wrong, and then we are only talking about 2 or 3 times.
