anybody ever been pulled up by their work for having black eyes?

I get blackish eyes every so often from fighting or sparring. So far my work have never had a problem with it. Today I have an absolute beast of a black/swollen eye that is barely open. Maybe I am worrying over nothing but I don't know if some folk in my work will start thinking its 'unproffesional'. I had it on my CV when I was intervbiewed for the job that I boxed, so I dont really see how what I do outside has to do with them unless I start missing work- which I never have.

Just say you suffer somestic violence from the missus, they'll leave you alone lol

I cant help but think of the scene in fight club in the office.

however, joking aside the only problem i can see them having is if you are doing presentations and meeting/greeting clients etc. For day to day running of your job i doubt they will say anything, apart from maybe ask if you are ok etc.

I work with a wide variety of the public but the vast majority will know what I do.

Sadly any public that doesn't know you will think you're a c.unt if they see you with a black eye

I just get laughed at. Plus i work maintaining social housing so the look fits in with most of the tenants :D

Yeah loads of times when i worked for the govt, started off by telling them it was rugby related to make it seem less threatening then as i got more pissed of the job and the ****tards i worked with told them it was from street fighting lol.

Dont reccomend that but the rugby seems to me a more socially acceptable explanation

I used to work for a big national security firm and ended up as a manger so had to do client presentations etc. and even they kicked off when I went into work with black eyes! Did it three time in a year and it never got more popular!

luckily i dont mark!  i think ive had one or two black eyes in my life!
