The UKBFF (formally the EFBB) held the British Finals in Nottingham on Sunday 2nd October 2005. As always this was an excellent show, even though it was a long day, due to the huge number of competitors causing the pre-judging to over-run a little; the judging started at 10am and didn't finish until nearly 7pm!
At £40 a ticket (well, for a decent seat) the day is expensive, but enjoyable. There were lots of trade stands (including www.sci-mentor.com - thanks for their help with the MT flyers), and a number of top names in the audience.
Rather than go through each category and describe each physique, this report will just mention a few competitors and you can enjoy the photos (courtesy of Darren Sherlock - member Sherlock). A few MT members competed and were well supported including Liz Kinsella (Gymbabeliz) who looked fabulous, with an out-of-this-world routine taking her to first place in the Fitness category - well done Liz and for sure you will go a long way in this sport.
Avril Cunliffe-Keith (ripped_glutes) looked great, and has packed on a deal of muscle in recent months taking her to a very close third in the women's over 57kg physique class. Avril may well be another big name to watch out for on women's bodybuilding.
Other MT regulars included AsianDynamo who competed as Junior and has a very promising physique; James Llewellyn (21gunsatute) who came a very impressive first place in the Under 80kg and looked big and proportioned and is already making a name for himself. And sorry if there are any others who I have not mentioned!
Only the top five were called onto stage for the evening show, which is a shame, as, due to the exceptionally high standard, many great physiques were overlooked. The results were:
