beginner progress stoped. 07 March 2010 09:39 (permalink)
6 weeks of healthy eating, lifting weights and cardio.doing well, but last week or so progress has really slowed. going to increase cardio to 4 days and keep weights at 3 times a week. my question is do i need to be drinking a protein shake or is that just for blokes wanting to get big. my goal is lose body fat and tone up.

thanks in advance for your help.

Progress will even out eventually. Its normal.

Just keep plugging away. As mentioned a diet check and training check wont hurt either.

The first month/two you'll find the best gains and after i wish it was as easy to gain!

            What is your current workout?

              thanks for your replies.
iv just changed my workouts, im doin cardio 4 times a week now and weights 3 times. planning on doin...
              Workout 1
              Bench press
              Incline bench press
              Triceps
              Squats
              Workout 2
              Bent rows
              Shoulder press
              Bicep curls
              Dead lifts

so week 1 il do workout 1 twice, then week 2 il do workout 2 twice, week 3 workout 1 twice etc.. just to see how that goes.
And either jogging or exercise bike the other 4 days.

If you increase cardio then surely you gains will be reduced unless you eat a stupid amount more?

Also with regards to protein shakes they will assist in your goals. Alot of people are under the misconception that protein shakes are just there for people who want to get big. I've got my female flat mate on them to assist in her 'beach body' goal and she's found some great gains with them so far.

                  Routine sounds good.

Get your diet up so we can take a look.

Try either changing the diet or cardio to kick start the body into burning mode again. Could you change your cardio to AM on an empty stomach or change to a mix of HIT cardio and low intensity cardio?
