body parts more than once a week

Right guys what are peoples thoughts on training a body part(s) more than once a week when on cycle?? I have always trained everything once a week but with say a 10 week cycle you only get to hit say back 10times which doesnt sound a lot when u say it like that.. Was just thinking off the quicker recovery test say gives you... thoughts on a postcard.. thanks

I train hard twice a week, usually a Wednesday & Sunday. While on cycle, I do 3 a week. If I feel an area is slacking, I do a mini-work out extra each week for that area, just a quick 5-10 minutes. For me for example, my triceps could be better, so I train with them 3 times a week + 1 mini-workout. Works for me!

There is no rule really on this mate, we all respond differently and it deoends on many variable factors outside of that too, best is to try increasing volume and see how you personally respond. I have found hitting certain bodyparts more often each week worked better for me at times, so definitely worth trying to see what works best for you mate. Bigfella.

I have found hitting certain bodyparts more often each week worked better for me at times, so definitely worth trying to see what works best for you mate. Bigfella. This is what I basically do. I got my 3x routine work outs, for overall body. But certain parts I give an extra hit, usually during the routine plus an additional seperate work out. Does the trick for me anyway haha

If it's no longer sore/stiff then i'll consider it ready to train it again I.e i train my arms whenever i can brush my teeth without saying " oooosssshhhh " when i bring my toothbrush up to my mouth or legs whenever i can sit down for a sh1te without saying " awwwrrrrgh " Good system i feel.

Thing you should remember also is that other workouts such as shoulders will hitt biceps too. So also take in to account which muscles are being hit indirectly.

Can never have "too big" an arm right? If this was my routine for example: Monday - Arms & Chest Wednesday - Shoulders & Back Friday - Legs & Cardio ... Id do a Thursday as a Mini-Circuit for the body part that I feel needs improving or extra work with. Maybe you could try the same thing, or do 2 of these circuits while on a cycle?

As bigfella says, everyones different. a good idea when 'on' is just to listen to your body, don't go in thinking i will train X,Y,Z. If you are recovering quickly and feel you could train a bodypart the day before you usaully would, then do it. just be careful not to over do it, but TBH it's not as easy as FLEX magazine makes out to 'overtrain'.

Personaly I would stick to a solid three day split and do it every other day ! Always seems to work well...

Can't see the point in training arms twice a week when you'll use them in other exercises. Sometimes it's nice to hit chest, back or legs twice a week when you feel you can do the extra workouts or you have more time. If you hit a muscle group hard and heavy you'll be sore for 3/4 days. If your arms are sore and you're hitting them twice a week what about when you do chest, back etc you'll be hitting them again. Arms would be getting overworked for me.

I like hitting bosy parts twice a week when on as I feel recovery is better for me personally. But I use a power/hypertrophy split, Upper and lower power at the begining of the week, Hypertrophy WO's for the latter part of the week. Google Layne Norton's PHAT routine for more info on it.
