can i pick some brains please in regards hair removal 07 April 2011 11:55 (permalink)
Right got my show coming up in 4 and bit weeks and im a hairy fcuker to put it mild lol
I have very sensitive skin shaving my face dont brings me out in spots I have trided all different shaving foams etc all of them bring me out in spots the only way I get round it is to just wet shave with very hot water.

im worried about de hairing prior to the comp I have used removal creams and there not to bad but I do get a few spots I had a trial run the other day and stomach back chest seems ok with many spots at all but the backs of my legs well there coverd in loads of little spots any ideas on ways round this or alternitives as I dont really wanna shave all over as im worried it will do the same.

any ideas welcomed
cheers

        how long untill the comp?

waxing is likely to produce a big reaction mate.

i find the only way i can do it is to keep shaving it, 2x a week for a few weeks untill the skin gets used to it and the rash dies down.

hair removal needs to start a good few weeks out for me.  if you leave it till the night before its asking for trouble on the day!  big rashes dont look good on stage!

Trim all your body hair soon as you can mate and then shave it all 2 weeks out, Another shave a week out and then a finakl shave 3 days out.
As dazc says start soon as possible, Not something you need to be worrying about in your final week.

I'm same dude, if i shave my body using a razor, i'm left in agony and feels like prickly heat, rash's, spots etc
So i just use Wahl Clippers, but the little ones for side burns etc, like the barbers use round your neck and ears etc, i've used the big ones that you clip on guards for a 1,2,3,4 etc
Obviously up close you can see tiny black dots where the hairs are still visible as it's not as close as a wet shave, but once Tan is on and more than half a metre a way you cant tell.
Do it once a week so the last trim falls on day before show, no rash, no spots, nice and easy.

Im in the same boat - If I dont keep my back under control I look like an 80 yr old Greek fisherman when I take my top off!
I agree with the comment that shave every few days is the way to go - the first time you will get spots, the second less so and the third even less.
Waxing is great but you have to start far further out as the first few times I had it done left me with little white dots that took over a week to clear. After a few goes, that stops - but its longer between waxes hence it needing starting further out.
The creams are a no go for me, I stay sore for days on end with them.
We do today what they wont - so tomorrow we accomplish what they cant!
