Use a small caloric surplus to keep fat gain to a minimum. Still doing cardio once a week will keep your cardiovascular system healthy, amongst other health benefits which are all a good aid for building muscle.

i'm in agreement with the guys above. cardio will keep ya CV system health and some fat off. low duration/intensity would be best. but if you aint arsed about ya CV system and want to gain every pound you can for better or worse then dont do any cardio. but i would advise again eliminating it totally. technically, it you have an isotonic drink up to 20mins before any cardio then you should have enough cards in the system to be used as energy alongside fat and should spare any lean mass. no real point to that though as low duration/intesity would not eat into your lean mass notably (if at all) anyway. just think about keeping the CV system healthy...its an important part of ya

I have found that small intense CV workouts (ie. 5/10mins rowing machine of a distance of 1500/2000m) after a 45min weight session work for me. I like to associate the type of CV with the muscle group im doing.

any type of cardio is fine. It will only stop you growing if you dont account for the energy expenditure in your diet for the day. im doing 45 minutes 3x a week and making gains. Diet, and its suitability according to everything you do is what determines gains, not wether or not you do cardio. cardio keeps you healthy and fit. everything about bodybuilding is easier and goes better if you have a decent level of fitness.

I agree with everything said by dazc. You see people who are so lazy when they bulk and think they can over eat and not do any cardio...it really bugs me. Any bulk that isn't a lean bulk is just sloppy in my opinion. As long as you are remaining in a calorie surplus you will be fine. I would recommend being at as high a level of CV fitness as possible, wether you are a bodybuilder or not.
