cutting diet 31 January 2012 20:53 (permalink)

Hi guys,

I've decided to go on a cut and would like some thoughts on my diet.
I was going to run the dp keto diet but it would be to difficult to incorperate with my job, so I'm going to try the good old fashion way, plenty of cardio and less carbs.

I'm 6,1ft, 85Kgs, approx 15% fat

06.30 2 scoops whey in water, fish oil caps, coffee
08.30 50g oats with skimmed milk, 3 eggs, tea
10.30 chicken breast (130g approx) 40g brown basmatti/ wholewheat pasta, salad, olive oil
12.00 can of tuna (130g) 40g brown basmatti/ wholewheat pasta, salad, oilive oil 1 apple
14.30 2 scoops whey in water
15.15 handfull of cashews, 1 bananna
16.00 train
17.00 pwo shake, 2 scoops of whey, 5g creatine
18.00 high protein, moderate carb, low fat meal (depends on what my partner has cooked.. fussy eater!)
20.00 1 tbsp peanut butter
22.00 150g cottage cheese.

I do a push, pull, legs routine with 20 mins high intensity cardio at the end and one day a week I do sscv for 45-60 mins.

How does the diet look?

    Hi mate,

Not too shabby IMO, I would look to add in more green veg though, I love the stuff and the benefits are always welcome.

The bottom line though is you need to be in a calorie deficit to decrease body weight. Work out the cals and macros and you are good to go.
I love the smell of steak in the morning...

I'm unsure of my macro requirements tbh mate. I was just keeping protein high and cutting down on the usual amount of carbs. Do you know how to work out maintenance cals?

          Ta mate

I'm 26, 6,1ft, 85kgs, approx 15% bf. I train 3-4 times a week. I climb pylons for my work, pretty physical work. Not so much in the winter tbh.

Thanks mate! Obviously I need to be hitting under that by around 500 kals I'm guessing?

I'll weigh out my food and work out the macros tonight.

You would know what the protein/carbs/fat ratio for cutting by any chance?

yeah make sure its under by 500 cals

im not to sure but it all depends on what you want personally i prefer high protien, fat, medium carbs and only from veg
also i have a refeed day(cheat day were i eat more carbs in any forms)

                 i tend to do
                protein-50%
                fat 30%
                carbs20%

Nice one mate, thanks for that. I've never cut before so I just want to get it right rather than waste my time.
I'm 2 days in so far and finding it tough!
