hmm, its fair to say that todays chicken and salad day has tested my patience at work! Just done 50 minutes low level cardio. 2 more meals to go, then its bed, cant come quick enough! Dont remember these no carb days being so difficult last year, but then they were a good month into the diet, maybe thats why. Even just with the 2 days, im looking a bit sharper, some water loss no doubt.

Hi Mate, hows things?? are you able to do any back work or is the bicep hindering it??It might be a case of working the bicep more inderectly at the start and slowly bring it ito play when it gets a bit stronger!!

micky Hi Mate, hows things?? are you able to do any back work or is the bicep hindering it??It might be a case of working the bicep more inderectly at the start and slowly bring it ito play when it gets a bit stronger!! hi mate! havent dared do any back work yet, my back is strong, so any work that would do any good puts the bicep under alot of load. Im still very nervous about using it, have been at work but carefully, and doing a few light hammer curls. I think this is where its going to be a head game. Rachels buisiness collegue, a top level physio and rec therapist has said that i really need to start pushing it a little bit now, leave it any longer and it will affect recovery. What id like to do is build a little strenth directly then move onto back work and gradually build up on that, my thinking was wide grip lat pull down, withthumbless grip, using straps, and really focusing on not pulling with the bicep, any thoughts?

I think using the v barr for pulldowns will put less emphasis on the bicep same for seated rows, wouldnt do any reverse grip, would pobably refrain from overhand till you get more confidence. Single arm cable rows are a good way so you can rotate the arm to ease the effect off the bicep. Hope this helps a little mate but it really will be a bit of trail and error...cheers M

I did lat pushdowns today (either seated on an incline away from a calbe machine -like a pullover but pushing) or standing lat pushdowns - both seem to recruit the biceps very little. Upright rows (if you count these under back) might be useful too Or... what if you use straps or those gripping hooks with a light weight so you mightn't feel it in the biceps as much as you normally would?

Dazc, hubbie was advised to only do negatives on his bicep, using a light weight he would use use his other arm to put the weight to the top and slowly do the negative part with his injured arm. Re range 12-15. It worked well for him but he felt a plonker using 5kg dbs
