well pretty sure im losing muscle.  despite upping carbs a couple of weeks ago to slow weight loss, ive lost well over 3lbs this week.  feeling flat as well, and just dont seem to ache after training, like i havent trained hard enough, yet im pushing as hard as i can. i always usually ache after training.

if i cant cut on this diet without losing muscle, then im going to have a huge battle to retain any size at all. 

not happy.  add to that ive had a really sh1t day, all i want to do right now is eat a shed load of food.

    Hold back mate ,you are hiiting the body harder now and uping the tempo of things ,you will feel flat,small all sorts of thing that all part of the game.
    The mind will be telling you one thing and thats to eat more and you feel better.
    Stick to the plan mate .

      are you sure of your real size?

      you are a large lad with a good chunk of body fat mate so you will have intramuscular fat as well, so as you diet and start to lose this all you will shrink.

      are you thinking that this loss of size is all muscle?

      mate i have dropped so many clothes sizes and lost 4" off my thighs and an inch off my arms but i knew that was because i was a chubber and fat made up a good chunk of the 'look'.

      knuckle down mate, this is the early stage and you have seen how i have been through loops thinking too much about it all.

        You might think that you're losing muscle but you're probably not. The mind plays funny games when you diet. Look at how small some of the large guys look in comparison to how they are out of comp shape...it's all about quality and not quantity

          cheers guys, feeling a bit better about it today,  had alot going on yesterday,  what was supposed to be a good 30th birthday weekend turned into one of the worst weekends i have had in a long time.  Hopefully there will be no repercussions from what has happened,  but will have to keep my eyes open for a week or two thats for sure.

          i am going to see the diet through no matter what i come out looking like in the end,  valuble lessons will be learnt and any muscle lost will quickly be regained.

          if i could see improvements then i would be feeling pretty good, BUT the last half a stone has made absoloutely no difference to what i look like in terms of leanness.

          but another couple of weeks and i will be posting some more photos, so everyone will be able to see whats happened, maybe i will start to change soon!

          barring the pizza i have posted about (which was extra over normal meals) i have stuck religiously to my diet, even on my 30th birthday

            fat comes off all over and it is annoying when your far out, if only the body would glow red where the fat has come off in one week!

              Best tip I can give to stop the mind playing tricks on ya (with the loss in muscle/no change in body comp) is don't look in the mirror for at least 9 days.  It's worked wonders for me mate.

              Instead of standing there after every session and thinking "nothing's happening" just put your head down and walk past it.

              That way the net time you look in the mirror you get a nice shock as to how you've changed.

                i agree with covering up in the gym too... i seriously got depressed at my midsection for weeks on end.

                  not suprising there are so many people on a perma-bulk  realy is it! haha

                  i did a video of a posing routine earlier,  who the hell do you spin it out for 45 seconds- a minute?  i got through all the compulsories in about 15 seconds! 

                  everyone may well have a video to look forward to with the next photos as well!!!!

                                      chest tonight, didnt really train chest last week, decided to completely change my routine and try take the pressure off shoulder so-

                                      db press-

                                      15kgx 20
                                      25kgx20
                                      30kgx12
                                      40kgx12
                                      47.5kgx10
                                      30kgx20

                                      tried some flys but shoulder didnt like it, so left it out.

                                      did some work with a db leaning off a rack, not sure how to describe it.  3 sets on each side.

                                      back width wide grip pull down

                                      40kgx15
                                      60kgx15
                                      100kgx8
                                      100kgx8
                                      50kgx20

                                      3 sets of crunches, max reps.

                                      know its not much, but it was heavy and intense, but most importantly hasnt aggrivated my shoulder.  will increase the number of exercises next week, maybe superset some dips into the second chest movement

                                      45 minutes cardio, was hard tonight given the temperature in the gym was sweating like mad,  drunk a full 2lts of water during cardio!
