arm is really taking some getting moving, still quite a bit off getting the full estension im allowed, tendons dont feel long enough to allow it at the moment!!!!

movement in general is getting less painfull, and upper cast actually seems to have got a little tighter since thursady, so im hoping that theres enough movement to prevent much further muscle wastage.  shoulder is now starting to look a little atrophied, but only in certain positions.  have some neckache as well, due to the imbalance the cast creates

generally positive though.

woo hoo! made it to the gym for legs, first time in 4 weeks! 

leg press 4  sets 20 reps

leg extension 4 sets 15 reps, light weight 2 second squeeze at the  top

leg curl  4sets 12 reps

calfs- tried james calf routine, my bloody feet are still shaking!  lol

felt so good to train.  tried cardio, but after 5 minutes i was getting hot and the pot was tight and itching, so no cardio for 6 weeks till the pot is off

need to decide how often to train legs.  part of me wants to split legs, into hams and calfs and quads, and do eacj twice a week.  but then the sensible me says that its pushing my knees too much.  i think even full legs twice a week would be so either full legs once a week, or split legs into 2 days a week to get 2 gym sessions and take as much advantage as possible of the rest and food im getting

my mate who i mentioned is steaming ahead with recovery now mate, only problem he has is wrist pains from being in pot for so long, and it was digging in alot when doing squats with it on.

keep up the physio will do world of good

yeah im expecting wrist problems, its aching like mad alot of the time, and theres another 5 weeks to go yet, think wrist is going to be the most painfull part of it

how have you tailored your diet now you are unable to train as much? reduced carbs?


was great to be there, though it took 2 hours to do legs with everyone coming to talk to me!
 
im quite restricted as to what i can cook, so diet isnt quite as clean as it was, and food choices are different.  ive gone for keeping everything high approach.  i dont gain fat easily, so carbs etc are still high to limit muscle loss, rather than lowering them too much to prevent fat gain.  easy to diet the fat off!  though as im sleeping in etc etc, there has been a lowering of what i can eat in a day, so totals are a bit lower, but then i spend all day sat on my arse now!
 
example days eating
 
9am  60g whey in milk, 30ml udos, glucosamine, chondroitin, multi vit, apple
10am  2 bagels with butter, large glass fresh fruit juice
12pm  jacket potato with cheese, 200g cooked turkey, dairy milk, crisps, pint milk
3 pm chicken + salad (spinach, rocket, peppers, grapes, apple, cucumber, tomato, EVOO, sesame oil, WW vinegar), 4 slices white bread with butter, boost bar.
6pm,  chicken and ham tortellini, in tomato sauce.  glass fruit juice (tropicana- tropical)
9.00  chicken + salad (spinach, rocket, peppers, grapes, apple, cucumber, tomato, EVOO, sesame oil, WW vinegar)
10.00 3no bagels
11.30 60g whey in milk, 30ml udos, 50g oats

also eaten in the day, 150g cashew nuts,  couple of apples, banana, pineapple, kiwi

To be fair mate, that's still pretty clean.

its alot cleaner than my old bulking diets lol, but nowhere near as clean as the bulking diet i was on pre-injury

ok, odd fact for the day, i dont have a favourite anything!  what i like changes from day to day, though generally cheese and onion or prawn cocktail are the winners.  like worcester sauce and bbq rib as well. generally in a multipack ready salted and salt and vinegar are last to be eaten.  though the best crisps are probably seabrook ready salted! lol

just been in the shower, calfs are so sore that drying my legs was painfull!

just having a bit of a snack, cheese on toast, boiled eggs, pineapple, and for dessert i have cream and jam sponge :-)

if i cant train hard, i can cheer myself up wih yummy food!  ha ha

just made the 3 mile round trip to the office to check on work stuff, ever single step of the way my calfs were agony!  who would think a couple of minutes calf work could do so much damage!!

I've found this quite frustrating too tbh! I usually love cooking but with 1 hand, it's abit off putting and have got pretty lazy unfortunately, sticking to easy options or just eating tuna straight out of the tin

Well it's odd, I must be having a craving day cos of my tumm but I saw a workmate eating crisps and thought "I'd love some of them", and I HATE crisps!!!
 
If you could get some Chinese in I'd thoroughly appreciate it... And eat some Ben & Jerry's with the missus, as normally my boyf would feed it to me off a spoon :-D

rachel is on a clean diet, we have an eye on her doing an npa show later in the year so shes trying to gain a bit of muscle at the moment, but keeping it clean, so ill have to enjoy it all on my own!  lol

think she will do an npa show, bnbf dates dont suit and she hates the t walk they have, just need to work out if her condition will suit it, i think as soon as she starts cutting, she may look a little hard compared to what seems to win the figure class.   but i think she will do very well if we can tailor condition to suit, but good thing is we will be able to choose how hard/lean she comes in fairly easy.
yeah i have tried with the journal thing but she is soo busy with her work, and its a crucial time as the courses are really taking off now and the business needs to push forward.  the stuff is amazing, but challenges and proves wrong some of the things that have been taught and accepted in the fitness industry for a long time.  it will be a huge step in injurt prevention and correction.
 
shes very dedicated with her training, running or cycling in a morning, weights on a night.  also teaches some classes!  she sticks well to her diet as well, clean but lots of food, and we have improved it recently as well with a bit more protein.  might run a journal of her progress inside this journal.....!

weighed myself this morning, weight is staying exactly the same,  small change in body composition again, which is to be expected.

overall, to say i havent trained for nearly 5 weeks, and have been off aas  nearly 8 weeks, its going as well as could be expected.  the only positive  is that when i start training etc again, i should get a nice little surge of gains.  think the plan will be 8 weeks all out bulking, then cutting for a few months so that come show season i dont feel so bad going to shows!
