hi im cutting for a comp and was wondering should i be having my normal protein shake on waking or after my cardio with my breakfast,
 
thanks anyone who can help me out.

    I'm not cutting at the moment but I have a protein shake post workout and then have a scoop with my oats in the morning.

    Best way to lose weight is to perform cardio on an empty stomach - so based on that I'd say after the workout to aid the muscles.

      My choice would be to do morning cardio on empty.

        no need to have a shake before cardio, AM weights or hiit cardio then yes, but fasted sscv cardio is best in the am. follow that up with your normal breakfast which imo should always include a source of protein anyway.

          As above, empty for AM Cardio but for HIT shake before.

              I have a couple amino acid tablets first thing just to spare gluconeogenesis, and they're calorie free. I think its important to make sure that your glycogen stores are definitely empty when you're doing it, cos that will make the fat metabolism less efficient, you could do that by training late-ish or restricting your carb intake the evening before. Then get on the caffeine to block glucose uptake to the cell and you're laughing.
