I stopped buying pre workout supps a while ago because all they ever tend to contain, is caffeine, and maybe taurine, and it is a hell of a lot cheaper to buy these things seperately! Try having taurine in your pre workout shake (you can buy it dirt cheap from myprotein), and have a drink containing caffeine during your workouts... Lucazade sport do a caffeine plus. I use this during every session and I think it works great. Hope this helps.

Not sure about the coffee as it's a big no no nutrition wise, but energy drinks like locozade sport are okay. I've also heard a lot of feedback about Disco500's supp reccomendation. Either way, it's important to keep hydrated.

I used to drink red kick whilst training, but now I just make sure I get into the session ahead with a decent lowish weight high rep warm-up set, I'm then ready to go....just water throughout, save money for PWO supp IMO!

Bilal Green tea before cardio, then weights and just drink 2litres of water while training 2 litres is a bit ott for just during trainin mate better spreading it out over the whole day. Drink around a litre myself when training anymore would be borderline for being bloated etc i find..

black coffee before then water ^ This. I also can't understand why coffee would be regarded as a 'no-no'.
I hurt myself today, to see if I still feel. I focus on the pain, the only thing that's real. Trent Reznor- Nine Inch Nails.

Coffee is bad nutrition wise because although it stimulates you at first, it actually overworks the adrenal glands, making you feel more tired after you have had your "hit". Coffee also reduces the absorption of minerals in your body - compromising your immune system. As a general alternative to coffee i'd stick to green tea without a doubt - though i'm not sure about its use pre-workout.

Very dilute whey and palatinose is a good way to go. 10-15g protein and 15-30g of CHO per hour depending upon goals/work density, this is a popular formula in elite sport .

I have always used a pre-work out drink be it caffeine or Nos pump, type drink and i have used most on the market now. And i have two favs, (USN No voltage) and i would use MP CEE tabs with this one at a dose of three with the drink 1/2 before your work out. Muscle tech Vapour is one of the best i have used yet. As said i have used lots pre-work out supps all the way from GABBA to Ephs. And will give most things a spin once, but i have narrowed to the two above. Daz
