female competitors in west midlands area

hi ladies
 
i have been training for years and wanted to step it up a level and maybe try a figure / fitness comp, the only thing is i dont know any females in my area who compete that can maybe help point me in the right direction or assisnt with any questions that i may have ref posing / costumes etc......
 
any ladies out there in the westmids?, im currently living in nuneaton, warwickshire but originally from coventry.

There's a great gym in Coventry called Future Fitness and there are a couple of ladies who have competed who train there

Are you on facebook at all and on the NPA group?
 
Have you been to any of the shows?
Apparently BNBF do posing seminars. We should def go to those! Think they aren't until next year. If i find out dates i will def let you know!
 
So what made you think about competing? :) are you looking to enter trained figure or physique?

i called the gym today , they have about 15 ppl who compete, 4 of these are woman, they have taken down my details and are going to pass them on to these ladies who will hopefully give me a call and then maybe we can all arrange to meet up and bombard them with loads of questions! lol

figure or physique?? i think physique you get to do the proper muscle poses and figure you get to wear the sparkly high heels (how anyone can flex, walk and not fall over in them i dont know...)

just read that post of mine and didnt mean to imply that figure dont do "proper" poses or anything - gawd knows its blimmin hard.  I just thought with physique you get to do most muscular and stuff - Im not sure you do in figure??? but i know nothing so ignore me!! x

Depends on the fed
 
With BNBF you do quarter turns, ab & thigh pose and then t walk
With NPA you do quarter turns, 5 compulsories ( Front dbl bi, front lat, side chest, rear dbl bi & rear lat ) and then free posing routine
 
UKBFF I think is just qtr turns only, not sure what NABBA do

hi ladies
the manager at future fitness called me and advises to add them on face book which is where we can find alot of information and get in touch with female competitors on the friends list etc, he mentioned a show in june 2012 that they do them selves future physics, which is a show that hold no pressure and would be ideal for first timers that would like to give it a shot.
ive sent them a message on face book and he is going to keep me posted and updated with events etc.
 
i think would like to go for the figure class, i like all the sparkly stuff, looks so pretty! haha! though as you say flexing in heels cant be easy, can just about walk in them!

not sure i could muster up a posing routine, eeeek scary!! the quatre turns sound just about enough for me! lol xx

Agree with the 2 definitions.
Same basic boses for each but physique is poses with closed fists and barefoot, figure is open 'girly' hands and high heels!

no i hant managed to add the gym on FB as yet, tried last week but got some message about the site being updated and havent really had time since, though i have had a few chats with the manager, he has advised me to check youtube out for posing etc as i havent a clue then practice at home in the mirror, then nearer competition time he says he will get some one to show me and see how im getting on, i cant get on youtube at work, and finding the time at home isnt easy so i havent even started yet! eeek!!
