    Hiya

Well done for not eating the indian (sure he appreciated it) and also well done for being honest about the choccy. I am still going there......eating choccy that is. Just do your best, that is all you can ever do.

Both of you.....what sort of workouts do you do?  Tyrob, you are being VERY quiet about your routine, unless its somewhere else....spill the beans dude!  ......Val, you berluddy know what you're doing or you wouldn't be where you are now....but workouts?...come ooooooooon...tell, tell, tell........not that I wanna know of course...all for the benefit of my. ...ahem....the public.....

if you must eat chocolate, limit yourself to one or two small pieces each day, and get very high cocoa content (= low in sugar)

              Hi All

This is a superb thread and thank you to all who continue to contribute!

I've stopped training four years ago and my waist has expanded quite significantly from 32" to 38". I guess it's all about a trade off and what is of importance to you personally. While I may never go to the beach or a public pool again, financially it's made a huge difference by giving me the time and flexibility back needed to be successful at work.

In addition, I can now throw together a fillet mignon with a red wine sauce followed up by a chocolate souffle and raspberries that will bring a tear to your eye. ;-)

Northern Rock - Staggering. Just staggering.

Tyrob - If this is what you want and it makes you happy. Seize it with both hands and don't let go!

                      hi tyrob
try and stop saying you are "a fat lazy twxt, making excuses not to train"  Have you heard the expression - say it enough times you'll believe it?  Why don't you turn it round to a positive saying.  You ARE going to the gym you ARE trying you ARE on the road to success - sure there will be roadworks and detours on the way but that's life - it's how we deal with them.
So come on shake yourself down and get the feel good factor going!
look at Northern Rocker - he looks fab (sorry but he does!) we have to work hard at it we can't buy it.  Sorry a bit waffley I know, but I'm injured at the mo and would love to be in the gym right now and am also fighting the urge to pig out but I am fighting! So stay on that road!

I had been using my job as an excuse not to get to the gym.. I do a lot of hours, typically 10-12 a day sometimes 6 days a week.  But this last 2 weeks I've made a real effort to go before or straight after work and have managed 4 times a week with a good walk on the days I don't get to the gym.  It hasn't made me any more tired, I think I feel less tired after I've done my WO.

Really got the bit between my teeth now!  Just need to see the gains.. but they are oh so subtle !!  Grrr...

the best feeling comes when the gym no longer becomes and effort and you then start to kick yourself for missing workouts,,,

I think this a motivational problem at our ages (im 49 next month),gains are very very diffcult to actually see, inspite of  working out 3 times per week full body.

Stresses in life generaly i feel affect diet/training etc etc and it is quite hard to put this to one side in order to keep motivated.

Whats the answer?who knows but i feel it is within everybody to make change and be consitant in order to achieve our persional goals.focus and you will achieve imo.
