Been walking round the gym tonight with a 65k dumbell in each hand ( heaviest the gym has ) just to get some kinda feel for the 80 k farmers - got some strange looks lol - Quite friendly with a local welding company so gonna try and get some frames made up in the next cpl of weeks and my mate down salisbury may have a log for me so all looking good at the moment

As I'm only from Worcester, it would be silly for me to ignore this.

I reckon I could give it a go.

More info on the weights would be great, although there's no rush. I realise it's nearly 6 months away.

Been having a bit of a think about events.
I like the idea of a one arm dumbell snatch this year around 40kg for the first timers 50kg for the novice.
Frame walk is in the picture as well 180kg for F.T and 220kg for Novice.
I have my eye on some nasty blue water barrels for a loading race 4 or 5 barrels of various weight to be carried and loaded onto a platform.
I will have a chat with the lads down at the Whey and get back with more info later in the week.

So just the weight being used?

Dont quite understand your seemingly unwillingness to help, to you these events may be the norm, but to myself, a possible first timer, it is quite a big deal, hence me possibly asking things that may have been covered before and wanting a smuch info as possible. Is it too much to ask

You mean apart from the several replies in this thread already - which you mention. Or that I said Mike was thinking of the events - so none have been stated yet... or that it's clear, as you guess above, that the weights would be lighter (obviously not heavier). I guess all that not being the case, and made clear before, my not being helpful to boot?? Really? I can't tell you what I don't know regardless of how many times it's been asked.

That is all fair enough, I did miss the sentance about example weights, but manners in your reponses wouldnt hurt. You sure have a way of shooting down somebodys enthusiasm.

Now, I recall you doing something similar in the thread about a guy wanting orange flavoured whey, only in that instance it was you who had missed reading the very first sentance of the thread. Not one person showed you the disrespect by jumping on that fact, yet you seem to do it at the first opportunity to people.

Interesting that you bring that up. I posted more info about the hows and whys of orange flavoured whey than anyone else. The ONLY error I made was in missing his comment about a particular product being no longer available and someone said it was.

As for shooting down someone's enthusiasm... I'll bare that in mind when I'm helping Mike put the competition together, humping the gear to the site at 6am and so on. I'll repeat what was said, without being a kiss ass, that all  the info available to those who care to read it (much like me in the supps thread) is there. No events have been posted in the 36 hours since someone asked, because they haven't been decided on.

It's an issue of the web and esp Muscle forums like this one that once an announcement has been made which may be of interest to its members there is almost a demand for more information. Keeness is good. No problem there. But if there's nothing more to give by way of info, other than what was said, then demands for it and more.

As for manners... do I need to say please and thank you? If so for what? Look at it another way. You see a sign on our gym door announcing an event. So, like the web, you put our head around and say 'any info?'. Mike or I give you the little we have. Asking again the same question the next day... not so great. It's been what... 48 hours or so since the initial post but other than our confirming (I posted that) the venue (then the details) there's nothing more to say.

When there's more, we'll post more. Keep checking back or send Mike a PM with an email address and he'll add your name to a list and send you info.

Anyway Mike confirmed that the two events will be taking place at the same location we've used for the past few years on the 19th (first timers) and 20th (Novice/as per) of June at Whitminster Football/Cricket Club Grounds
                                  Whitminster Playing Fields,
                                  School Lane,
                                  Whitminster
                                  GL2 7N
                                  (info etc to follow).

This isnt that far from me

as per my thread started in this section

I would like to aim for this

                                  suppose I best read up

and yes , I have no clue lol never done anything like this before
