found butt exercise on youtube - adding size 03 September 2011 16:23 (permalink)
Hi  - I am posting this on behalf of my wife who is recovering from back pain and looking to strenghten her bum, legs and lower back.
 
What do you think of the exercise in the youtube video below? is it a good addition to lunges, squats and deads to build bum muscles?
The main aim is to strenghten, add size and avoid any further injury.

    that exercise is more for the adductors and hips, not the glutes.

      Ok, thanks - it will be done as an addition to lunges, squats and deads. However, do you think that its a good workout for abducters / hips then?   I have never seen anyone do it before.

        try this it only activates the glutes

          I would imagine so.  it is basically a weighted version of the movement that is very common in step classes (i think it is the step class, i never do them but do know that movement is quite common).  an easier way to do it would be with ankle weights.
           
          stiff leg deadlifts will probably help hit the glutes too.  if your gym has a butt blaster machine then that is very good.  dont know why more gyms dont have this machine.

            My favourite for glutes! 
            And I too suffer from back pain, but these are fine, if done correctly
