Few ideas to isolate, then of course you can add stiff deadlift, lunges etc...

Re:glutes training - 13 September 2009 14:56 ( #7 )
SLDL and Lunges ! Malika has taught me how to do the SLDLs properly and really squeeeeeze on the glutes when coming back up.

Along with lunges I made this difference to my butt in 3 months ...

I'm going to try and get some more glute training done as well, maybe on a shoulder/abs day as that workout is quite a quick one... I'm going to do the exercises Malika has linked to above.

Wispa,
don't hesitate to use heavy weights! You can isolate your glutes as many times as you want, every other day... Pre-contest I did them everyday using different exercises...

Ditto everything above!!! Old Skool moves and raises at the end of a workout till you can't do anymore!!!  Works wonders at those stubborn big ole glute muscles!

Must add that cycling out on proper roads, up hills with a big gear.....now THAT has worked WONDERS for my butt but is vair vair ouchy!

Hi,

Has to be walking lunges with dumbells...and then prepare not to be able to sit down 2 days later...lol

Hi Anna,

Just 1 set each side with no rest between each exercise every other day & you should see a difference in a month...

Again don't hesitate on using heavy ankle-weights!

Thanks Malika - would it be counterproductive to do them every day or two sets every other day?

Need to get more weights, my ankle weights are only 2kg but they feel a lot heavier after doing these!

Put 2 on one ankle! Or even strap a wee dumbell on with them!

Everyday is fine...

Not sure about strapping dumbells, might not be very comfortable, but as Tania said, you can strapp on 2 at a time(hope you are ok Tan!)...

Hi Malika....yeah we're great...must catch up soon tho!!!xxx

Before I got the heavier weights I strapped two smaller ones to one ankle and strapped in a small dumbell. It is a bit awkward but still managable!!!!
