RE: got loan cant pay back
-

ORIGINAL: stone14 its from barclays bank, they rippd me off anyway i got £4400 and have to pay £7300 back! Oh no, not Barclays. Dont expected to get any sense out of them if you go in to a branch and worse if you ring em, i took insurance out on my loan and they took 4 MONTHS to set it up after sending my personal deatails to a wrong address twice! i lost my job barely had enough money to pay the rent never mind the loan, so anyway... they finaly managed to send my insurance app to my correct address not to mention all along the branch manager kept telling me id be reinbursed for the loan i was paying when my insurance was setup, then i get a phone call from the PPI in Dublin telling me unfortunatley we are unable to pay you on this occasion as you where made unemployed before the 60 day peroid (2 days it was) So im not gona go into to much detail what happend to thae brach manager when i went into there, but im still going through legal proceedings and that was nearly 2 years ago, so if anyone is thinking of getting a loan with Barclays DONT DO IT, dodge them like the plague cos the lack any customer service at all and fcuk you over!

This turned into an interesting discussion. At least I thought so, having just read it through. I'd have enjoyed joining the discussion about personal debt and personal responsibility which it spawned into. But I don't feel comfortable weighing in now because the 'thought police' (Yes, Osagi, I mean you) have already tried to clamp down on what seems, to me anyway, to be reasonable and thoughtful comment. Given the many comments of other posters who feel the same way, Osagi, you seem to be very isolated in your opinion about this. There isn't much which stifles a forum more than heavy-handed moderation by people who value sugary sweetness and political-correctness over frank and honest discussion. If Mobster, or anybody else, broke the board rules then I can't see how. Are mods really going to continue telling people exactly what tone, manner and phrasing is and isn't acceptable based on their personal opinions? That'd be a real shame because its the sort of thing that really kills a board like this.

I take it that in your experience internet forums function best without moderation, can you give examples?

ORIGINAL: stone14 anyone on here ever getting a loan, lost job and cant pay it back? i have and dont no what to do about it, just wondering what will happen. what will they do? Mate ring them up and be honest with them, I reckon that they will agree to reschedule the loan for you, so you pay back what you can afford. They know in this culture there are Lot's of people going down the bankruptcy route and they would rather get their money back over a very long period than not.

Excellent, I always wanted to join the police but my poor eyesight unfortunately ruled that out But it's good that I have acquired at least one fan Chance old chum, it can get real lonely at the top. Oh and seeing as you love heavy handed moderation so much (and here's me thinking i had a soft and kindly touch ), stick around, there's more to come!! Love and kisses Osagi

>>You chump The mods work really hard to keep the board running smoothly and keep the atmosphere up Its a private board and not a democracy, the owners can impose any rules they want. If you dont like it, piss off << Amazing. The Mods clearly DO work very hard to keep the atmosphere up! They're happy to moderate free discussion, but you can tell me to "piss off" and that goes unedited and uncommented. LOL. I tell you what, bud, I'll say what I think, you say what you think, the mod will do whatever the hell this particular mod fancies and the world will carry on turning. Or, if you don't like it... well you know how that one goes.

Disagreeing with Osagi on two threads = a vendetta? Wow. Maybe, if a disagree a third time, I'll grow horns, a forked tail and drop straight to hell? You're right, I don't like Osagi's style of moderation (that Ive seen so far.) So what? Osagi doesn't care. He's made that clear. He's even sending me a signed photo so I can stick it to my wall and think on all the bad things I've said and done while looking respectfully at my intellectual betters. If disagreeing with the guy twice and saying so somehow makes me a troll or a demon, so be it. I suspect, from his robust responses, Osagi is big enough to handle my occasional disapproval. :) And you clearly don't agree. So who's hurt?

Sorry i was a bit flippant I just get a touch annoyed when people bring up *issues* with the moderation They're told what to do by the board owners, and they're entrusted with the power to moderate the board. I for one think they do a marvellous job Mate if you have any problems, im sure you could email admin and have a private discussion with them about it, rather than openly trying to put down a very respected member of the board (and not just respected because he is a moderator but more because of the sense, time, effort and thought that goes into his posts)

No it doesn't make a you a troll, but disagree with me three times whilst looking in a mirror and I'll appear behind you and bite you on the leg.
