hair mineral analysis = new diet
02 February 2012 11:17

hi lads, i went and seen a nutritionist an got a hair mineral analysis done (would def recommend!!) as i wasn't feeling good for a while an losing weight. anyway results were that i got a metabolic type - fast 3. basically my body is in a catabolic state. through pro-longed stress (an not dealing with it) my adrenal glands and thyroid function were in over drive and totally out of balance, and releasing way to much cortisol. plan now is to change my diet (an STOP stressing lol) to help restore balance. I've been advised to go for a high fat/protein diet and low-ish carbs (still eating carbs!). science behind it is that carbs speed up my metabolism but the protein and fat will slow it down an help put weight on etc. but now i don't eat as many carbs im struggling to consume my goal of around 3000cals, any tips? im trying to eat healthy only fats, i've bought a load of coconut milk & almond milk as im not a fan of dairy milk, im eating avacardos, nuts, seeds, fish. any input would be great thanks.

There hair analysis thing is pseudoscience and a load of rubbish. The person is not a nutritionist they are a quack and I would not recommend it. They've told you a load of crap and you feel better because they've said it in a way that sound plausible.

fitnessguru why such the bad rep james? everything she said makes sense to me. Exactly. Just because someone says something and it seems to make sense, doesn't mean it's right. do you not think good/bad nutrition can help/aggravate certain going's on in the body? Oh, of course. But test it through hair?!
